It's 4:20 am and I can't sleep. This is because I'm moving into my college dorm today at 10 am. I'm not really sure whether I'm excited, or nervous, or just really stressed from all this worrying that I'm going to leave something behind. Probably all of those. It is a little scary you know. I've never lived away from my parents before...well, not for so long a period of time. Of course, the university I'm going to is only a little more than an hour away--but still. Plus, I've never met my roommate before, so I really hope we at least get along... unsure.gif

Awww, I'm sure you'll be fine. smile.gif

I definitely know the feeling. I took a 3 day bus ride to NYC (first time living away from parents) and I didn't sleep the entire way, I was so nervous/excited/whatever.

After you move in and discover that your roommate is (hopefully) a cool person and start getting used to the place, you'll probably be able to settle down around...oh, this time tomorrow. happy.gif

Good luck!

I know, I'll probably be fine. But nice to hear some reassurance from virtual strangers...I'm already feeling better, I think. Thanks. happy.gif

It takes some getting used to. It seemed like a big deal to me when I was first moving into a dorm too, even though I was only a half-hour drive away from home. Going to college and living in a dorm -- that's a big step to take, but like others said, you'll adjust and be fine. It's fun and quite liberating once you get used to it too. Yay, independence! Yay, education! Yay for spending late nights all alone in the computer lab, screwing around on message boards and such! Yay for not having to listen to someone else tell you when you should go to bed. Hehe.

And when I am formulated, sprawling on a pin,
When I am pinned and wriggling on the wall,
Then how should I begin
To spit out all the butt-ends of my days and ways?
And how should I presume?
