I'm scared. What if my house blows down? *gasp* What if the phone lines go down! I'm really scared now!

Is anyone else out there experiencing this, or is it just me?

So sorry you have to go through this storm. Grab your treasures, go to a safe place, and come back and post to let us know you're alright!

Hope to hear from you!

Yeah, we're stocking up on candles and flashlights and the power is currently flickering. On the upside, no school today or tomorrow.

Better post this before the power goes off.

I hope it waits. We have some chicken in the Crock Pot that smells so good but still has an hour or two to go until it's fully cooked.

Lucky you, I had school today and I've gotta go tomorrow. Stupid community college. I'm safe, for now, although that wind is a biatch.

Thanks for the concerns and hugs and prayers. I'll be safe. I hope.

We did have a hurricane in the UK when I was about eleven, it knocked down trees all down my road but my mother still sent us to school! I had to climb over fallen trees all the way there only for about one hundred people to have made it in that day and about three teachers!

Well, my power has been restored, after almost two days without it.

The chicken didn't finish cooking. That depressed me.

Basically, we stayed up late playing Mexian Dominos and Uno by candlelight, and when we woke up the next morning, our house was intact. We drove around for a while, especially to my friend's house (she'd gone to the Virginia Tech game, and was wondering if the house was okay and if it was safe to come home). Her house was fine, too, though there were quite a few houses with trees on top of them. We drove around looking for hot food for a while, and every place that was open was jam packed. Later, we went to the grocery store, and there we found out that there was one restaraunt open that was pretty much unknown, so we ate there for dinner. And the food was hot. And it was wonderful. Hot food.... mmm. On our way home, we saw trees lying on powerlines. 'Twas scary. There was someone we knew with down powerlines all around her house.

Today we had to clear out all of the leaves and sticks and pinecones that had come during the hurricance. Not fun. And then, twenty minutes ago, power came back... oh sweet, sweet power.

whoooo hooooo made it out of the hurricane.. We only lost a couple of trees... max winds here where are 70 mph.. our side of the city got it a bit more than the rest.. but still nothing as bad as in the past... it wasnt worth hype thats for sure... last time we had a bad hurricane I was without power for 2 weeks and my parents house was flooded.. so yeah this wasnt to bad at all.. the only scary part was that one of the trees that fell almost landed on me and my roomies cars.

Mmm, that is a common misconception. No, I am 18 years old. I'm a freshman at CCCC. AND I'm ok! Thanks for your concern folks, I really appreciate it!
