I guess it's probably because I'm still sort of a noob and all, but I don't feel like I fit in here at all. There's another forum that I've been posting on for 3 years now, and I still feel left out there, too. Being an Occasional Poster™ might have something to do with it, I guess. I can never really think of anything to say.

Anyone else ever feel this way? Just... awkward, for some reason? I'd love to be one of those people who everyone talks about, but I can't because I never actually say anything. Half the time when I'm going to post something I don't because I'm afraid I'll look stupid. (And then here I go posting this... I'm really going to post it this time, no turning back.)

I'm going to stop whining now. I just felt like actually saying something for once. Sorry 'bout that.

Aidan

Yeah, that's called lack of spam ability. Basically, a lack of ability to post meaningless [*ahem*-Mata] that is borderline breaking the rules but not quite. People get to know you by replying with equally meaningless [*clears throat* I really should get some cough medicine... But then how would I cover over swearwords?-Mata] and thus you get to talk to them and be talked about. I only learnt this when I became an admin on another forum and sort of gave up trying to stick to the rules, seeing as I was an admin, people couldn't really complain. 800 posts later and it's easier to post anywhere. So, yeah, you get more chatty with time...

(and now that forum is an anarchist state. Oooops biggrin.gif )

Edit By Juice:Wha? Last I heard the S word wasn't an EDITable offence, yet I've been EDITed. How come? huh.gif

I think I understand what you mean. I have a lot of posts, but I definitely don't feel like I really fit in. Of course, I have yet to ever find a place I think I fit in at... lol My opinion: it's not such a big deal to be somebody that a lot of people talk about. Honestly, I would always pick having a smaller number of really good friends I love and can depend on, than a lot of friends who I don't/can't. Just stick it out and get to know people... in your own time. smile.gif

I think if you look at the number of people who are talked about compared to the number who are in the forum you'll find that there really aren't that many who are talked about. So really we the people who aren't talked about are in the majority so you do fit! biggrin.gif & as for it being cause you dont post alot it's not that I regularly Spam & am here most nights I dont get talked about. So it's not that. wink.gif
Dont worry about what your about to post cause you think it'll make you silly cause thats the fun of the forum no one can see you face to face so you can say things you wouldn't dream of in RL cause no one can see you looking enbrassed or uncomfortable & we all look as silly as each other any way! biggrin.gif

it seems to me that your a little shy, no? if not, whatever... you just need to reach out a little... most people here are friendly and will gladly talk to you / become your friend if you want them to... i am willing to do just that as well... drop me a PM for my aim or yahoo screen name (whichever you use... if you dont use either, PMs work fine, too) and you can consider yourself, one friend richer biggrin.gif

I don't know if this will mean much but I know everyone who's posted in this thread so far (including you Antagony). Perhaps I don't know you all _very_ well but that's just something that comes with time.

In some ways you could look at this forum as a place for people who don't fit in anywhere else. The rules are there to stop people causing trouble and upsetting others but so far I've only had to boot two people and give warnings to a handful. Relax and remember that on the net no-one can see you blush so go ahead and post it anyway. The Daft forum is a pretty good place to get to know people, maybe start up a joke sharing thread in there or something like that?

I know what you mean. I used to go to a couple of other forums before and in the beginning I felt a bit "left out" but after some time I became good friends with a lot of them esp in the last forum at justiceforkurt.com (no one laugh - the forum was GREAT - then they closed the blah blah blah section sad.gif - also the emoticons there were AMAZING! )

So yeah we'll fit in soon enough. But according to Crunchy, he said I sound totall different here, mysterious, I still haven't decided if that's a good or a bad thing unsure.gif

Actually meeting people would be great... if only I was on the same continent as anyone here. Of course, I'm actually more awkward in real life, so I don't know how well that would work out anyway...

Oh well. You guys are great. Knowing most message boards, I half expected to get flamed for whining. This has got to be the friendliest place on the internet smile.gif

Aidan Antagony is actually much less awkward in real life. She's even more entertaining too. In fact, the only drawback to meeting her is her worrying tendency to keep buying PVC items.

Edit to add: And Ming, you're not scum. You're a mofo.
