Ok....I have observed for a while some really interesting topics go up in smoke and so fourth because of tension and arguing. I have also seen lots of rage/arguing going down around here...I'm sorry but this has been driving me insane...

Seriously, I understand how debates and friendly one on one matches are but my god! It is so annoying and so tiring to see tension STILL be here. Yes we have had lots of b/s at times with this forum and I understand that. At times I felt like screaming in the thread to just bloody hell grow up! I was close to a few times but decided it would be immature of myself to do so. I am just sick of the ever lasting tension and the bickering back and fourth. Last time I checked we aren't 2! Anything can be solved with simple discussion, not yelling at one another...since when has it helped...really...

Well that's my lil venting for this evening...you have a good day now

Your words are going to fall onto deaf ears, especially to the people currently involved in the entire logicman vs. debaser tyraide. Maybe it gets old, but apparently aknowledging it never changes anything. History repeats itself. Maybe one day people will grow up about it, but until then, some people would rather just scream (or vent) at eachother for getting under their skin. Seems malicious, doesn't it? The getting under the skin purposely part.

You know what I like to do when bickering starts?

I try to categorise the protagonists using the descriptions here.

It's great fun, but I've not yet managed to decide which of several categories I belong in...

Look at all the bickering. It's not easy to take it all so lightly, but arguments have been going on on this board for a while, and they wont stop. The fight between me n' Spug, Logic and Dayan, people wont always like eachother. It's just built into their personalities the way they react. You shouldn't stress yourself thinking about it, since it'll just go on.

I stress myself nothing, it just annoys me a bit so I thought i'd vent a tad. Ya I know people will not like people, buuuut does that really mean we HAVE to argue? It does not get stuff done *shrugs* guess that's my point of view methinks.

it is MUCH better to vent your feelings in various arguments than to keep it inside of you. it mightn't seem like it, but if you tried to stop all arguments, then we'd have a few, but very explosive, angry, hateful, and hurtful ones as opposed to the mulitiple, but much more toned-down ones we have now. it's all about getting the best situation possible. not the perfect one, the best one possible

Exactly, Gerb.

I know from experience that if I don't have the little arguments when someone irritates me, then I'll just blow up at them one day and say things that I'll only regret. It's much easier to deal with a series of tiny arguments (that aren't even enough for anyone to get warned, mind you), rather than one enormous, possibly very hurtful fight.

I think it's a lot better that we get things out in the open. I think, as a whole, we're all pretty open with each other on here when something bothers us. Bottling stuff up isn't healthy at all. It isn't a matter of being immature, it's just us stating how we feel on various subjects.

I do, however, feel that some arguments are better left to PMs. The whole forum doesn't need to know that so-and-so called you a loser in an IM last Tuesday. If you have a problem w/ them, PM them about it and sort it out in there. Cause I can pretty much guarantee that the rest of us really don't care.

I personally dont think that this thread should be deleted because while most wont really heed the advice given here, it is a nice reminder to many of us to keep some personal things off the forums and in private conversation.

Personally, whenever there's quarrel around here, I generally stay. I don't bloomin' care. There was only one time I REALLY stepped in, and that was in PM and ONLY to voice opinions of others. I just made somewhere aware of something. No harm done. It was kept where it belonged and not everyone had to sit around and do the whole

"Bish bish bish"

"blah blah blah"

"Fighting is bad mmkay? STOP FIGHTING!"

routine. *nod nod*

Maybe with the stress and strains of everyday real life, the anonimity of the board releases all the pent up stress in what we post, making us argue. That could be why we've all been bickering and bitching so much lately.

That, or we all need to eat more fibre.
