Well for me it was between Sci-fi/fantasy and anime, so I chose Sci-fi/fantasy cause it would include most anime.

Hehe. Being the humongous anime fan that I am, my auto response is telling me, "ANIME! ANIME! ANIME!" but I also enjoy other films, too, of course, some more than others. Lots of recent films have just sort of disgusted me... Or maybe I just read too far into all the themes and whatever... o.o;;

My all-time faves include literally everything by Hayao Miyazaki / Studio Ghibli. Any other anime otaku love his stuff? happy.gif He did Tonari No Totoro and Mononoke Hime, if anyone is unfamiliar with the amazingly talented director's name... So yar, go watch 'em! biggrin.gif <3 <3

Over all fav style of film is si-fi/ fantasy but my fav film isn't in that catagory just to be awkward! Cause I also have a thing for John Hughes films bad habbit but what the hell! And I had my habbit before Silent Bob advertised his. In case your wondering John Hughes made Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club (my fav ever film). Very cheesey 80's high school films in case you still didn't know! tongue.gif

I love all sorts of stuff, but I'm a sucker for thoughtful prison movies...

Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile

Otherwise, I love comedies! Zoolander is definitely on my list of all-time favorites!

I seem to gravitate towards cult-classics - Pulp Fiction, Assault on Precinct 13, Gattaca (it's a cult classic because I say it is, damnit!), Fight Club and so on.
Do cult classics count as a genre in their own right?

I like Resevoir Dogs. It was kick-ass. I also want to get the special edition DVD of House of 1000 Corpses and, of course, Pink Floyd: The Wall.

I voted Fantasy/Sci-Fi, but I'm not really picky. Unless it's Disney, Western or Anime (I'm yet to see the Animatrix, so I could be converted) Theres a fair chance that I'll like it. My favourite movie though (not fitting into the voted category) would be Gladiator.

*also a great fan of the Shawshank Redemption*

I voted horror/thriller, But I pretty much like anything except most western (cowboy) films.

I just saw a movie called "The Brave" which I thought was terrific. I dont know how easy it is to find though. Its directed by and stars Johnny Depp. Its kind of about this guy that sells himself off to a snuff film place to get money for his family. I'm bad at giving a synopsis. But its well werth a look see.

I'm also really into french made films right now. I would recomend

11'09''01 September 11 (very nicely done and very tasteful considiring its about spet 11)

Chaos

The Professional

The Red Siren (very similar to The Professional)

Vidocq (the visuals of this movie are past amazing)

Brotherhood of the wolves

Amilie

Pure Formality

The Crimson Rivers. Er the list just goes on
