We had a thread about what we wanted for christmas but now it's all said and done, did you actually get what you wanted? yes? no, if not were they better or worse, myself i got a fair amount of booty, a few dvds, a lovely furry warm coat (its fcuk but its a nice coat so i'll keep it) i also got a new vcr which is good because i kinda broke my old one....well it was already broke....i just broke it more tongue.gif and there was other stuff that i'm too lazy to list at this moment in time, but like i said lots of booty (not the ass type, foo'!!) and my pant to sock ratio is nearly 1:1 again XD tongue.gif

i got a bass (fender strat p-bass).. it's really really sexy. black, but i put stickers all over it already. this thing hasnt left my side since christmas... sad and stupid as it seems, i actually took it in the bathroom with me once. ...

anyway, along with the bass, i got a bass AMP and that's a crate 115w combo cab..
also extremely sexy, which has yet to be stickered.

uhm... god i'm spoiled... i got an acoustic guitar along with that.
a fender stratacoustic (acoustic/electric), it's black, and shiny, and it goes really well with my new...

GUITAR amp.. an 100w fender acoustic combo. it's REALLY nice.

i got like 4 belts and 1000 beltbuckles... a couple hats..
a coheed and cambria sweatshirt
a CRAPLOAD of socks
a gift certificate to hot topic (50 bucks) which i spent like *snaps* THAT...
i got a strongbad sweatshirt.

... uhhhhh some sort of sandwich maker thingy...

and thats it..
GOD i'm spoiled as hell.
the first four items combined is about 1800 dollars.
i'm so not worth that.

anyway, the reason for the first four gifts is:

INTERSTATE EIGHT (my band)
is playing an acoustic show
on January 23rd, 2004, at 8:00pm
at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Mira Mesa Blvd.
(i better see ALL of you san diegans there)
www.interstateeight.com < check us out =)

and it's over.

^^ from the other thread about what i wanted.
this is what i actually got.

i asked for like.. 20 bux.
and TADA!

.. and it's over.

For christmas, I got a treasure chest of spanish dubloons. I'm going to convert the dubloons to modern currency, then use this to set up a marine archeological dig. Equipment, divers, boats, supplies, maps, surveys and historical records of old ships will be bought. Once these have been looked over by the captains and technicians, we will cross out over the Atlantic Ocean and trawl along the bottom of the seabed. Using the latest sonar devices in harmony with GPS tracking systems, we can pinpoint the smallest shipwreck on the bottom of the sea to within one nautical mile. Once we get down there, we will dig through old cupboards, mark out areas of the wreck for renovation and restoration, make historical notes, find old logs and paperwork, and possibly, just maybe, I'll find some spanish dubloons to call my own.

Oh my...congrats on that last one, dear...
My heart is with you...

I got the iPod that came with the new Beetle
The new Nestor Torres CD (he's a latin flute guy...mmm)
some soap
some clothes (that I picked out, luckily)
a new journal
day planner
scarf and gloves
candies!
stocking stuffers including a magazine, squishy snowglobe pen, little dark chocolate candies, mint chocolate candy canes, new cleaning cloths for my flute, etc....
$50 to Barnes & Noble

I know that there are some smaller things I'm forgetting, and I feel awful about that, but despite my family having some serious issues, it was a good Christmas all around.

Being a Brit now living in Oz for a year - I was given a DVD of the Australia vs England football match in Feb 2003 which the Aussies won 3:1...

So - yes... that was good.

My folks got me $75 worth of book tokens - which was unexpected and ultimate uber cool of them...

Personally - I felt better giving gifts this time 'round - spent a lot but got some cool pressies for my little cousin, two nieces and baby nephew.

It doesn't feel like Xmas though - I spent the 25th in an outdoor swiming pool in nearly 30 degree C heat.

Fantastic - but it doesn't feel like Xmas...

Mmmm... Warm weather sounds nice about now...

The main things I got are a DVD player (because the PS2 is getting stroppy in its old age) which is great and money from my parents.

Funnily though, the thing that I'm most excited of all about is something that Sues (my girlfriend) got for free! It's an uncorrected proof copy of the new book by Richard Morgan, his first two books are fantastic and I'm really excited about reading this one biggrin.gif

$50 gift card to Dick Blick
$50
A chenille throw blanket
$50 gift card to Target
Titanium earrings from the Iowa Artisan's Gallery (they're not just jewelry, they're art!!! biggrin.gif)

She does have the slight benefit that she works in a bookshop and it happened to be lying on the side one day. They get sent these sort of things all the time and the staff get to keep them, but still YAY! What a cool present!

Spacehappy is currently winning the race for the coolest set of presents I think...

Of course, I also got the Underworld DVD from MissyA's donation to me (I'm just ordering it at the moment).

I also got the 'Death to the Pixies' album from some friends of mine and that's fab, I treat that as a bit of a gift from Debs too because I wouldn't have got it without him.

I didn't really get anything much to speak of, but that's because I told my parents that all I wanted was help in paying for a trip I'm taking in March to Philadelphia, NYC, and Washington DC with a few of my friends. It's a senior trip that we designed ourselves, and it's going to be awesome. So in truth, I got the plane ticket to Philly halfway paid for by my father, and my mother's contributing a decent monetary gift for other travel and food expenses. I'm still going to be rather poor when it's all said and done but I intend to enjoy my getting that way. laugh.gif

Other than that, I got a sweater. It's blue and stretchy and I'm not sure whether I like the way it makes my breasts stand out. sleep.gif Oh, and some money for makeup. I now own a nice stick of purple lipstick.

Well I got exactly what I wanted, A Gameboy Advance SP and Final Fantasy Tactics.
And for my birthday (which was a few days before) I got Final Fantasy 8 (which I'd wanted to buy for quite some time), and Grand Theft auto Collectors edition, which includes GTA 1 2 and London. Also between the 2 I got $65 in gift certificates split between Best Buy and Media Play. With which, and some christmas money, I plan to get 2 more games and the Armitage III and Dual Matrix DVD's.
