Oy. Every year if it snows in Western Oregon, they have a fit. Schools close, life comes to a complete halt. Meanwhile, the weatherman fleetingly mentions how Eastern Oregon (where I now live) has a ton of snow...yet no closures.

Although I will admit, the weather over there this year has been far worse than normal with the ice and everything. But most years...closing everything for one inch of snow... rolleyes.gif And they always have something on the news like "Winter Storm Watch, 2003!" For an inch of snow. It never fails.

And I lived South of Portland for 14 years, so I can say this because I've experienced both situations: You are all WIMPS! Though I didn't mind it while I was in school over there, I have to admit...till summer came and we had to stay extra days to make up for it. dry.gif

Meanwhile, we have a ton of snow here. This isn't unusual though. But we're supposed to get ice storms like you guys did sometime tonight, I think. That would be unusual...I've never seen that happen here.

Typical. I leave Seattle, and it snows like billy-o. Everybody gets the day off work, stays at home snuggling and playing videogames. Out here in Ohio, it's snows all the time - they chuck some grit on the road, and everybody just gets on with it.

Hmph. Yet another reason why the Pacific NW rocks the socks off the mid-west.

I live in a valley in central california, we don't get snow days. But I'm just an hours drive over a mountain to a wintery paradise.

1) Cand is right. You're all WIMPS!
2) Jonman is right, just chuck some grit on them roads and plug in your cars. Also it would be weird to live somewhere where snow made things stop.
3) sjbbandgeek is WRONG. There is no such thing as a wintery paradise. It's never existed, it never will exist, and those who try to tell you otherwise have either never lived with snow or never seen the ground without snow.

What does an indian casino have to do with snow? huh.gif

Nothing at all.

And wintery paradise...ha! Spoken by someone who doesn't live somewhere it snows from October through March.

I live where it doesn't snow, at all.

Exactly. Like I said, the only people who utter the words "wintery paradise" are those who do not live in said "paradise"

Brr... Well I live in London and it's either too warm and dry to snow or to wet for it. So either no rain or plenty of it.
