Right. I'm back from my hols in Florida. You better all have missed me tongue.gif
I've done all the parks and most of the rides (I've discovered a very irrational fear of roller coasters. I'd never been on one before reaching the states)
I've met Mickey Mouse, bought a world of merchandise, eaten American food ( unsure.gif ) and gotten very pissed off at having waaaay too much ice in every soft drink. And jesus, I missed my vodka and coke!

Anywho, I had a blast, as did Mat and the rest of his family. I'm home and safe and my mind is boggling at the time difference. Alll good fun.

I'm sorry Jonman, jerky looked disgusting so I avoided it like the bubonic plague tongue.gif

Wb WeeJ! smile.gif

I can't believe that they made you eat at Denny's. That's not classified food, much less American food.

But I'm glad you liked the Waffle House. Did you all know they apparently don't have waffles in England? At least this is what WeeJ tells me. And you're right about the soft drinks..that drives me nuts.

I'm very disappointed in you about the jerky! It only looks icky. It tastes delicious. tongue.gif

Denny's wasn't too bad...they have nice salads.

We need Waffle house's in the UK. We need waffles in our lives!!!

Anyone know how to make them? without using a waffle iron?

WHAAT!? NO WAFFLES?! O_O!? That is.... no..... ;_; How saddening..... *snifflecry* I would've avoided any sort of jerky too, though. It looks kinda gross... But anyways, welcome back WeeJ! Glad you had a loverly time, and of course we missed you~! *hugs* happy.gif

Uhm...that's pretty impossible, WeeJ. It's the waffle iron that makes it a waffle and not a pancake. The batter is the same.

I can't believe that was your first ride on a rollercoaster. Well, I've been around them my whole life, and I'm afraid of them too..lol.

I've been on one other roller coaster in England at Alton Towers called the Black Hole where you just ride around in the dark. Pretty much identical to Space Mountain for those who've been to Cassa De Mickey Mouse.

I went on a funky ride called Mission:Space where they sit you in a simulator space flight to mars. Its the same machine that spins astronaughts around in training for space flight. I'm glad to say I didn't barf biggrin.gif they had warnings for motion sickness on that ride all over the place biggrin.gif

Urgh... Rollercoasters... Scaaaaaaryyyyyyyy... ph34r.gif I've only been on two, I think, and I am completely terrified of those gigantic, really dizzy, upside-down new ones. No WAY you're ever going to get me on one of those.

And as for waffles, don't you guys have microwavable ones in England? 'Cause that's normally how I get mine. From Eggo Waffles people. It's like, the only way to get them without using a waffle iron, like Candice said.

You pretty much need the waffle iron like Cand said. If you get eggo's well they're a cheap version of waffles. Tell you what. If you want I can get a decent waffle iron for not too much and send it to you. Waffles are wonderful. I don't know however if you'll be able to make them as good as the waffle house. I don't think I've ever had ones that were better. Some places try to jazz them up with all this other stuff but I think the simple waffle house waffles are the best. Maybe they put crack in the syrup or batter. Hmmmmmmm sorry about my waffle rant.

Welcome back WeeJ, missed ya!

We have waffles here. Not waffle irons though, the kind that come in plastic containers that you put in the toaster. I'm sure they're not a patch on the American kind.

Oh, and

Welcome back, Jen - glad ya had a good time! smile.gif

And Commie is right, we DO have waffles over here. Yers, we can get the sweet ones which can be microwaved or toasted, an there are plenty of places where ya can get waffles from (assumin ya can find an American diner of some sort - there's one in Liverpool, does nice ones)

Obviously Brum is the intercontinental wasteland we all assumed it was wink.gif laugh.gif

So they lock you in a small room for six months then throw you through a thin atmosphere and then lose all contact with you?... Sounds like fun smile.gif

Wb, 'glad you had fun.

You can buy potato waffles over here, but they're heavily processed and full of natsy saturated fatty oils and icky stuff that I'm trying to avoid at the moment... Which is a shame really because they're rather nice!
