So guys, I was thinking about why less and less people are actually posting topics that hold water and it's so quiet around here and I figured it was because people have the January Blues.

You know, the time just after Xmas where you are feeling all deflated and fed up sad.gif You're back at work, you've just spent several hundred pounds on presents and festivities and you spent the previous 2 months getting ready to do just that! rolleyes.gif

Now what is there to look forward to?

Valentine's Day? unsure.gif Not til 14th and then only really for those with partners dry.gif
Mata Meet? unsure.gif Not til 7th Feb dry.gif
Easter? unsure.gif Not til the middle of April dry.gif
My birthday? biggrin.gif Ditto dry.gif

So people what have YOU got to look forward to? I'm not being maudlin. I really mean it! biggrin.gif Has anyone got any big plans for 2004? Any big new years resolutions?

I might be going to New York smile.gif I might be going with work but I should be going at some point with Ed anyway. I am also definitely going to go to Spain in October.

I am also thinking about getting another tattoo and finally getting round to getting my ears pierced so I can wear a lovely pair of opal studs bought for me at Yule smile.gif

So come on people, post and tell us all what you're up to wink.gif

Well, I have nothing to look forward to, I'm Australian and can't go to either the UK or the East coast meet, my birthday is in November...

Well, The magazine I'm helping make is having it's first issue in March. That's about it I guess sad.gif Have to go back to school in a week as well.

What am I looking forward to?

Firstly, foremostly and primarily - living in the same f***ing city as my wonderful wife. That would make a pleasant change.

Which will happen around the start of March. In the interim, I'm looking forward to the weekend after next, when I'll be heading back to Seattle for a 4 day weekend with her.

I'm also looking forward to knowing for sure whether I'll be hanging around in the States for the rest of this year, or heading back to the green shores of Blighty.

Basically, I'm looking forward to having some stability in my life where I can get on with things, as opposed to having the whole thing on hold and achieving nothing on a daily basis.

Hmph.

Hey guys, this is supposed to be a thread to cheer us all up. We all need something to look forward to, keeps the ball rolling so to speak biggrin.gif

Sorry if I didn't make that clear smile.gif

Pab, that's really sweet BTW. I have moments like that. Silly little things that make me smile. I look forward to the '5 minute phone call' with Ed where we say something like;

Me: "Done anything nice?"
Ed: "No"
Me: "You?"
Ed: "No"

We don't have much to say to each other sometimes but I love hearing his voice wub.gif

Little things like that......

I get them around Christmas... last till about three days ago... so I am fine now... but I was pissy up till then... (sorry kat sad.gif )
I guess Christmas always sucked when I was a kid... so it is just programmed in me that these 20 days are going to be hell...

I don't celebrate christmas but I still feel a bit deflated at this time of year - especially living in Scotland.... it never seems to get properly light at this time of year, just that awful, grey light that makes you squint!! So... I've had red streaks put in my hair to cheer myself up, and everytime a red strand of hair falls into my face it makes me smile!! Oh, yeah and I look forward to walking my dogs, watching them chasing about in the woods everyday makes me laugh! In fact pets are good for any sort of blues!! Cheer up guys - a big hug from me and my dogs!!

This thread reminds me that that Who song, Summer Time Blues... but I guess it isn't summer in the Northern Hemisphere... Damn.

Well, as they say: "there ain't no cure for the summer time blues"

Still, I forgot to mention that when I got back to school I'll be in a new one, except all my friends came with me. So that should be good. Still, don't know whether to look forward to it or not unsure.gif

Oooh, I definitely get to feeling icky at this time of year. It's that time of year when it feels like winter will never end.

Let's see...what I have to look forward to...

Feb. 15th: My last class from fall term will finally be complete. Even if I fail it (because the instructor is a MORON and keeps giving me user names and passwords to get into the site for the tests that don't work), it'll be a relief to have it be over finally. I don't think I will fail it though, because I finally got in contact with the school and they're trying to work it out now.

Sometime soon, I hope: The hospital stuff being over with, so I don't have to worry about bills anymore.

April 10th: My birthday! Yaaay! Oho, it's on a Saturday this year. I wonder if that Sunday is Easter then....*goes to check* Yup. B-day is sandwiched between Good Friday and Easter...just like the year I was born. biggrin.gif This also means I don't have to cook for 2 days in a row because we'll be eating at my parents' house. Woo!

Around the end of March/beginning of April: When spring usually begins here. That's when I can open the windows and not freeze to death. It feels so stuffy in here, and I wish I could open them...grahhh. It'll still be too cold to open them that early in the year, but heh I do it anyway because I can stand it and it's so nice to have fresh air.

The day when all this stupid snow melts!!! I am so tired of it, you don't even know...lol.

And of course, the West Coast meet in July. Yaaay! happy.gif

Well, I have a couple things to say...

Valentines will, of course, be horrid for myself. I'm just not the attractivegetpeopletolikeyou type. I don't know, people just don't like me. I really don't know what it is I do! Do I smell bad or something? tongue.gif

My birthday and easter are in april. April 5th. This is one big thing I'm looking forward to! I'm going to Illinois. Visiting a friend smile.gif

I was thinking I might have been able to go to the WC Mata meet. I can't now.

I really don't have much going on ever... I may be doing some more paintbally like things this year, and I may also get myself a new unicycle. A mountain one to be exact. smile.gif

Anyway I really don't know, my life is pretty dull, and a lot of the time I'm down just for no reason... Hah! I also agree with candice.. STUPID SNOW!

Yes well if you didn't spend hours on YIM messaging me then you might have got some work done tongue.gif

The new Soil album is out in March and the new Lost Prophets one is out at the beginning of February so that's something else I have to look forward to.

I never thought I'd sound so optimistic biggrin.gif

Either that or I just find the little things in life amusing!

Personally, I'm happy. I have a life that is orderly and straightforward, a job that, whilst it is hardly fantastic, keeps me happy and in beer money, and a very good relationship.

I have nothing to look forward to, but that's fine by me as there's plenty to look at where I am.

There's no January blues, damnit! The forums are just suffering from a tragic lack of me! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

Valentine's day: I like this day although I can't spend time with my guy then. Least we can send each other stuff smile.gif

My Birthday: This is coming up in March, and hopefully I will be going down to my boyfriend's for a few days, get away from the town and everyone tongue.gif I want a quiet birthday this year.

First anniversary of my website: This is around in April, nothing big but something I am looking forward to smile.gif

Easter: Meh.

End of school and second semester: Ah yes, wonderful, cept it won't happen till June >_<;; Aw well.
