I have discovered a major problem with my infamous slut boots, the platform is seperating from the sole. The site I bought them for has offered to carry out a repair/replacement but I have to pay the postage costs (standard parcels works out at about 7). I have heard it is possible to glue the platform back on (or screw it back) but have no idea what sort of glue to use (PVA?. Araldite? Superglue? The nasty looking Permabond I aquired from my supervisor?)

Any suggestions would be appreciated...

always the optamist I suggest you send them back for the manufacturer to fix because, nodoubt, if you try and do it yourself and it doesn't work they won't make the offer again sad.gif

What about just taking them to one of the shops on the highstreet that repair shoes?? I took an old pair of NewRock boots that the platform had come away on and they got fixed up just fine!! smile.gif

You could always use super glue. It fixes most things.

Or duct tape.

Duct tape fixes everything and it looks hot too laugh.gif

How long did it take? I'm going to take them to one in Exeter tomorrow and ideally want them done by the next day...

Sorry I didn't get back sooner - I'm sure I got them back later the same day, but I guess it depends how busy they are! Anyway, they'll tell you when you take them in how long it will be, and if you can't wear your boots with the sole flapping off anyway it won't matter just as long as they fix them!! biggrin.gif

Have you had them long cos you could take them in with you when you go to buy new ones on the off chance that they might give you a discount or something?

Yeah, that is a problem with buying stuff on-line/mailorder. I buy lots of stuff on-line and, on the whole, it's been great - you can window shop for hours (with a cup of tea too!), but sometimes you get stuff that's nothing like how it looked on screen and then you have the hassle of returning it! sad.gif
