Well, I'm off to England tonight ('round 6:30 ET) and although I've looked through plenty of "guides" and such, I can't help feeling like I don't know what I'm going to do... Since there's such a huge English population on here, I figured I might as well ask -- what do you guys suggest I do? I'm going to be in Cornwall first, then London, and then Bath so I'm open to suggestions for any of those places. Anything would be appreciated; although I've been to the UK before, I don't remember too much about it (I was really young) and would love to try something (anything or everything included) new! PMs, replies here, anything. Thankies! Oh, and I'll be off the forums for a bit since I won't have an internet connection over there.. *sniffletear* Parting is such sweet sorrow.. *grabs a tissue* Toodles, all!!!

Go to the Tower of London, 'tis good 'n' old. I would suggest several pubs but you're still a few years short of being able to go to them.

I'm a big fan of ghost walks. I don't know if you have them in the US, but basically you and a small group of people get a guide who walks you around bits of the city and tells you all the horrible spooky things that happened in the past. Personally I think they're a really interesting way of finding out about the character of a city. If you can get on ones after it's dark they're always better! Ask in a tourist information place about them.

One day, one day I'll go one a big vacation and visit England. I've saved quite a bit *points to large jar of coins*.

I'll get to walk around a chat up girls. A girl with a british accent does things to me Go to pubs and coffee houses and sample some of the famed british wit. Go a REAL football game, and perhaps a Cricket game too.

Ooo, when will you be in Bath? I'm a few miles away and could come and say hello. (twould be a good excuse to go for a bike ride for the first time in about two years, if it's not raining, which it almost certainly will be)

Thanks for all the tips everyone! Just one last check on this thread at the airport in the British Airways... Place thingy... I dunno what you really call it. Anywho, I will definitely check out the ghost walk idea, though I went to the Tower of London two years ago and remember it quite vividly thanks to the Beefeater (who gave our tour and kept making fun of me because I was American and supposedly had a "funny accent" ). The thought is very appreciated, though, thank you, Mata. I shall be sure to whistle, InKy, even if people look at me oddly in the street, really I will. 'Sides, it'd be good fun to see their reactions. I think I'll be in Bath this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday; I'm staying with a local friend. My mum knows my schedule better than I do.
