Yeah, so last night I came home and my dad told me that he had found his biological father (being that he's adopted and has been searching for him for a short while now).

I woke up around 7 this morning to my father coming into my room telling me that I was going to go meet him. It turns out that he's remarried, my biological grandmother has died, I have lots and lots of relatives now, and I'm his only grand daughter. My grandfather gave his explination of why he had to give my father up. It turns out that he was 20 and my grandmother was 40 with two kids already. They were unmarried (the first two kids weren't his own) and this was in the 50's so that was scandolous at the time and she would've had to give up her two sons. My father apparantly has a younger whole brother that they gave up as well. Somehow, they managed to keep both pregnancies a secret. My grandfather is apparantly an antiques salesman and was making a quarter million a year until recently when he had to give up his job due to a series of strokes. Since he made all his money on commission he's lost a lot, but he's seen a lot of neat places traveling the country. Apparantly he searched the country for my father as well entering an organization that helps ppl with these types of things in Salt Lake City.

Ontop of this, DOH and I went prom dress hunting today, and I must say we found two beautiful dresses that look mighty fine on us. smile.gif They're both red which is good because we're going with our friend Matt, so he'll be 'pimpin it' with one of us on either arm. laugh.gif

Long day.

Oh yeah - it turns out my grandmother was very musical, now I know where I got those talens from. smile.gif

I'm feeling kindof odd though, it's like I'm in a dream -- and with the way that my dad's been acting it feels like I'm being replaced. I know I'm not though so it's cool. He tended to put me on display a lot at our 'family gathering' today. When he couldn't find something to talk about - he'd talk about me >_<

sry guys -- just excited

Wow, that must be quite a mind-trip, suddenly having all that family. It's good to hear that they sound like a nice bunch. Imagine if you'd found them and then didn't like them!

I'm really pleased for you and your father. You can usually learn a lot about yourself from your family so it will be interesting for you both to get to know them. I got my artisitic side from my grandfather, so I guess those kinds of things do run in the family. He died when I was three months old so I never had the chance to know him either.

well she was put up for adoption and has her own family so its hard to know exactly where i stand when she's married (hubby in iraq) and has two young daughters plus her adoptive parents and brothers and sisters, theres not alot of room for me (a lowly half brother tongue.gif)

hehe thanks guys. Yes, it was one heckuva day - especially since I found out james got into an accident last night. Once that happened I completely forgot about everything else, I'm just glad he's okay.

For the most part all of them seem nice right now, and I'm discovering where I got a lot of my music talents from. I also found out that I'm English, German, and Irish. laugh.gif

Finding a dress ahead of time is quite a feat. I could never settle on a dress.
