I was combing my beard in the mirror today and started thinking about some of the kids of facial hair people like. My buddy Trapper has this power beard going while my brother Rick has these little pubes for a goatee on his chin (I had a great goatee at his age). My other brother Tim has a semi-decent goatee, but not like mine. My dad had a killer 'stache and my uncle has a decent goatee/mustache combo. My grandad blows them all away with his power beard. I hope that one day, I can grow a beard as killer as his. Anyhow, what are your thoughts on facial hair? I like it obviously and I just wanted to see about you guys.

In my own personal opinion you either have REAL facial hair growth, or you have an underdevelopped half-ass adolescent spindly 3-hairs-per-square-inch attempt at showing facial hair. This counts (for me) as the saddest way of trying (soooo hard) to look older, and therefore more respectable, just like on Jerry Springer. I laugh. I giggle. I point. I make rude comments ... After that it's how you trim it.

(edited to add the words 'spindly 3-hairs-per-square-inch', get rid of one 'underdevelopped' and shuffle it all about a bit)

I like mine. I don't wear it to make it look older. I just like my beard.

I like my little beard... I'm capable of growing it out, but I keep a small soul patch on my chin. Sometimes it's a goatee, though...

it really depends on the facial structure of the person, but i noticed that i am quite fond of a goatee (the none peach fuzz kind). but it really matters on the jaw line and cheek bone structure (because some people just shouldnt attempt it, they look much much better without one).

Yes. Women menstruate and its horrible for them, but men have to shave EVERY DAY! ... thus equalling out the burden of life between the sexes ....

Well - I like what my partner has - that's full goatee which we are are currently growing so that we can spike it into two and plait it.

All in all - I quite like hairy men. there's something primal and dirty about it. rolleyes.gif

I'm pretty lazy when it comes to shaving too. But i have (very) blond hair and pale skin, so you can't see it anyway. I could have a beard and no-one would notice for months.

Does anyone else agree that teenage boys ought to be forced by law to shave? Teen goatees are quite the ugliest and vilest thing on this good Earth.

Most teenage goatees? YES. KILL THEM ALL. I've seen a few that were tolerable, even likeable, but they've been few and far-between, and all those that had the good ones were pretty darn close to adulthood anyway.

What about sheer laziness? I don't shave much because I don't care, and I tend to look rather sloppy anyway, so it fits.

Mine sucked until about the eleventh grade and even then it didn't reach it's full potential until my senior year. Now I have a beard to be proud of. My brother's goatee feels like unshaven woman leg hair placed oh-so perfectly on his ultra-girlie chin. Ha ha.

I started my beard out of laziness. Then I figured out that I like it. See? Laziness can be good sometimes.

A little goatee is very cute to me. It shows the coolness of a goatee without going overboard.

I hate facial hair.. and for the record, woman have more to shave then men, unless they too shave their legs..which would be odd.. So, we might not have to shave as often, but we do have more ground to cover. And.. facial hair.. just gets in the way of petting anyway. Then again, I kinda like bishonen guys who are petit and girly, so facial hair on a guy doesn't really fit into likeness. But old people with beards kick ass, it just suits them. And hosts of like game shows.. should never shave their mustache, it kinda takes away from the show because you're like "Omg.. where's his mustache.. who cares about buying vowels.. look at his face!"

*huggles Mike FOREVER*

I loooooooooooooooooove facial hair.

It tickles like crazy! And is soooo fuzzy!!!!

*dies out of love for fuzzies*

I also think it makes guys look older. But there's one stage of the facial hair growing that I don't like. DEATH FUZZY It's that stage where the stubble slices you into bits instead of feels good. (my cheek and eye have had the mispleasure of being attacked by death fuzzy) It's evil. dry.gif Fear it.

Moop have you considered Nairing your face???
I've always thought that would be a sencible option for all the boys i know who at 20 still have stupid fluff but enough of it to need to shave.
I supect they're concerned that their hair may not come back at all.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! I tried that and it tore the hell out of my skin. I had a chemicle burn for days. DO NOT use Nair for your face.

I got rid of the beard. It was too high-maintainence. The goatee looks nice.

badbadbad chemical burns and stuff!

Who said I had stupid fluff but not enough to shave?

It's okay when stubbly but then I get too lazy to shave and it gets itchy and annoying. I'll stick with the peachy -> stubbly -> haggard -> give up and shave cycle thanks.
