Ok I've decided to retire my old razor what with it being over 10 years old and I cant really get the proper heads for it any more and it's a ladies razor which have the reputation for being crap!
So what with Ladies razors being crap I want to get a mans razor so want some surgestions so I can get a really good. So all ideas would be really helpful.

Don't bother getting one. Try to grow a beard instead. It's what all the cool kids are doing these days.

Warning: The above message is almost certainly foolish and untrue.

Go for a ladies Wilkinson Sword Venus. I swear by it. It's three bladed and stays sharp for a while.

The new Intuition one is really good the first time you use it but after that it's not so effective, so I wouldn't recommend it.

I wouldn't recommend a mens razor either as they are designed for facial hair, which tends to be be mich courser than leg hair. They're more likey to give you rashes and damage your skin.

Or, alternatively, get a close shave with a Gillette Sensor Excel! wink.gif

Never use Gillette, they have an abominable record when it comes to animal cruelty. here are standards of testing in the EU that are there for pretty good reasons, Gilette go way past those. The result is that the do make bloody good razors, but they are also doen in a way that I can't morally justify.

Personally I go for Boots' own label razors. They're not tested on animals, the new blades are as cheap as you'll get and they don't get blocked up after one use like Wilkinson Sword blades. Own label is the way forward.

Good call Mata, I've only tried their disposable ones, which were good, but I usually rely on Christmas and Birthday presents for my razors, unfortunately I got a Gillette this time, and it's trie about both the animal cruelty issues, and the skin removing claim.

Wilkinson Sword are good for the safety but they do get clogged behind those little safety bars, which is always quite annoying, and like Gillette, they're quite expensive on the blades.

I'd be careful getting a men's razor. The first time I ever tried to shave was when I was young and took my father's razor to my leg and pressed a little and WHEE it was bloody and it left a scar for months.

I need a new head on my razor, but a new razor would be a treat!

I wanna hear more experiences from more shavers of thin leggy hair .... Cos it could just be that a he-man butch-rasor (if we're talking electric) might be crap at the job ... just wondering ...

I have a Wilkinson Sword Venus (Girl's one- Its pink! biggrin.gif) and a Gillette GII Plus (Blokes). Both are good, (tho cos of the animal testing thing I don't use the Gillette one anymore) but I find the Venus blades don't last very long. On the other hand, I mostly use creams anyway for my legs so...
