Hey hey, you should all know who the beatles are right? If not look them up.... Anyways who was your favorite?

Mine was Paul McCartney mostly because I found some of his solo music on my comp the other day, and have been listening to them lately....

Stuart Sutcliffe....it makes me laugh they let him join because he got a guitar....he died of cancer just before they made it big.

I don't think they would have done as well as johnny and the moon dogs (original band title)

I love Ringo's quirky songs. I loved Paul McCartney's voice. Between the two, I'd say I like Paul better. For least favourite, it's a toss-up between George and John. Not that they were *bad,* per se, but I like them less than the first two.

I feel slightly ashamed to admit this, but I couldn't put names to faces for the Beatles. Hell, I probably couldn't name them all if you asked me off-hand. Anyone care to fill me in on who each of them was and what they did?

I'd have to say George but mainly because I really liked some of his solo work.

I don't know! I love them all dearly. I haven't heard much solo work from any of them. I would say I was more keen on Paul and John since they wrote most of the songs, but Ringo is eccentric and does excellent drums and his songs are fun. That leaves George - but he wrote "Something" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and other songs that are really awesome too. Don't make me pick.

for polo, it goes something like this Richard Star(s?)ky (Ringo Starr) was the drummer and wrote a couple of bizarre songs, George Harrison was the lead guitarist (played the solos) and wrote some politically orientated songs (eg. taxman) John Lennon played rhythm guitar and piano and along with Paul McCartney (played bass) they wrote some of the most famous and covered songs in modern history (such as yesterday)

...maybe i'll write a brief history of the beatles when i can't be arsed

edit: yoko ono, as much as i hate her for being pompous and pretentious, she really did nothing wrong

Don't forget that George wote a lot of their more Hindu-inspired spiritual music too. Also Lennon had some fairly political songs as well -- but then, come to think of it, they all did, continuing after the break-up. Imagine, Revolution, etc.
