Badges! Pins! Buttons! Call them what you will, but they seem to be everywhere I look nowadays. Every other customer I get at work has a bag strap, lapel or tie full of them.

Badges!

To stop this being a formless rant, I pose a question - have you badges? Where have you them? What have you them of? And why?

For my part, I have four that I wear regularly on the strap of my bag, all round, all the same size. From top to bottom:

1. A red one that reads 'Supergrass: Everyone's Second Favourite Band' - a phrase that sums them up perfectly.

2. The picture from the cover of Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side Of The Moon', one of my all-time favourite albums.

3. Another red one with the SFA logo in paler red upon it, and 'FURRIES' written across in yellow. Love them Super Furry Animals...

4. Best of the lot, a bright green one with the Mew angel logo picked out in silver, which I got via the Evil Office (aka Mew fanclub). Not a lot of them about...

So what about you? Or are you above this whole badge-wearing malarky?

I have two on my leather coat - 'Conform, consume, obey' and 'I can smell your brain'.

Can't remember where I got them from... biggrin.gif

As a rule, I don't do badges as I will always lose them. Example - I had two LGG and a Samuri Lapin badge on my bag - two months later? I have one badge left.

I wish I could not lose badges...

My rucksack is a seething mass of badges, patches and safety pins, mostly held on in weird and intriguing ways since they always seem to fall off.

1 x I Can Smell Your Brains

1 x Consume Conform Obey

1 x Sterilise Stupid people (oh how I agree)

3 x Random band badges (Billy Talent, Radiate and Zyllah)

1 x The metal bit from my LGG badge which unfortunately fell off *sobs*

Audiogene and Radiate patches

Oh, and some metal spikes I screwed onto the side pockets cos they go well with the vents but not so good when you have the thing on one shoulder and it flops onto your arm blink.gif .

I have the full set of Matazone badges. That's all, for now. They hang from the pull strings for the blinds in my apartment. biggrin.gif But if I need to use a backpack (very infrequent), I sometimes pin them onto it. Particularly if I'm wearing one of my Matazone t-shirts...then I can be all matchy-matchy.

My Mr. SB badge doesn't look too good, though. My cat has chewed on it quite a bit. dry.gif

We call them pins. I do, at least. I had a bunch on my backpack - they're expensive and fall off easily, though. If they go with an outfit, I might use them. But I need to start totally over...hmm.

I have the full set of Matazone badges and they were making a weekly rotation on my apron at work. I've gotta get back to wearing them on my apron.

I'm not interested in pins. They simply aren't big enough to get the message across. Sometimes a T-shirt will work, but only for those insignificant sayings, like, "I'm out of bed, I'm dressed, what more do you want from me?" or "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and then used against you."

Oh no, if you're like me, you need a billboard that says "SHUT THE HELL UP!" to be satisfied that the message has been properly addressed. Of course, I could also take control of the media and post it everywhere one's eyes could possibly rest.

In any case, pins aren't good enough. That's why I don't have any.

I have a bunch on my bookbag, most of which are of Metallica. I had a kick-ass one my mother got from a parenting seminar that read "I DRESSED MYSELF." (as they were telling parents to let their kids learn to take care of themselves via dressing themselves, but some kids look like hell soing so, thus the badges) Unfortunately, I lost it. I was very sad.

Matazone badges, naturally! They're living in a happy little pattern on the strap of my bag. But I've lost "I can smell your brains" and it makes me very sad. sad.gif

I'm sure tie-pins shouldnt count.

I have a tie pin shaped like spermatozoid ... yes ... its a little tadpole shaped thing with a dot where an eye might be, and a long squiggly tail. It is a spermatozoid. I wear it to official functions and business meetings where ties are required, and sometimes mention 'I have sperm on my tie' ... I don't know why I do this. Perhaps I shouldn't.

i used to have shedloads of badges all over my rucksack, but then they all got stolen and/or lost, so they're in a draw. sad.gif

Occasionally I will buy new ones and put them on a bag but two weeks later when half of them have been nicked, they're back in the draw.

I want a Blue Peter badge!

I have three Matazone badges, don't wear them too often though. I have nothing against badges in principle, lovely things really, but wearing them would mean making additional decisions when getting dressed, which I try to minimise.

You put the quote parks the wrong way round, it starts without the / and ends with [/QUOTE]. Just so you know.

And this preposition of "reading" being fun is somethign to laugh at. We are forced to read!
