To up the mood in this forum (and to blatantly brag in an attention-whoring sort of way) I'm gonna make an announcement.

I GOT MY DRIVER'S LICENSE TODAY AND I'M REALLY REALLY AWESOME.

Heh heh heh... yeah.

I especially think myself super-studly because I passed it while driving my father's full-sized truck. That thing is freaking huge. I had never parallel-parked in it before this morning, when he let me practice a few haphazard times before we took off to the licensing bureau. And then I aced the parallel parking. IN THAT HUGE TRUCK.

Okay, so I'm really proud of myself.

They should. It is an important skill, as it improves spatial awareness, which can only be a good thing for a driver.

Well done Missy, it does give you a new sense of freedom doesn't it?

Thanks for the celebratory ninjas. Never can have too many of those.

No, I don't get my own car. I wish. I'll be lucky to drive our old 1990 minivan. laugh.gif

They don't make us parallel park for our test, but my stepdad used to make me parallel park.

In my car with NO power-steering.

Between his big truck and the neighbors' boat.

It was... informative, to say the least.

Gah.. you evil evil person. I'm 17 with no license. You're lucky. But even though you're evil, and I'm just jealous, I'm happy you got 'em.

Well, I'll be 19 soon enough... so I've gone quite a while without one. Nearly three years. Granted, I never really wanted it - my mother pushed me into lessons last summer, and since I've a job now, driving's become a necessity.

I can understand your anxiety, though - my sister can't seem to wait, and she's only fifteen. Though being in the car with her is the quickest way to whiplash... dry.gif

Even if you plan never to own a car it's worth learning to drive one. It helps when applying for jobs.

oooh go you!

I can't even PP my mini! I did it in my test in a Corsa but I hadn't even attempted to since until a few weeks ago when I dropped my brother off in lufbra...was scary! At least in the test I didn;t have a space, just one car with nothing behind it for miles which helped. I love having a driveway!

Ok now I'm jibbering so well done, have fun, stay safe and stuff smile.gif be one with the road (but not literally)
