Mine was "Hong Kong Phooey". Like I said...I didn't get to pick it. I wanted a "Planet of the Apes" one. The movies had been made into a TV show and it was all the rage. Weirdest one I ever saw was the one my best friend had. It was a "Kung Fu" one. That TV show was real popular at the time.

Last one I had was an "Empire Strikes Back". Even though I was already a little old for it, I just had to have it. I still have it actually. Ok, I've said enough...please...no laughing.

Well This may date me (I wish someone would... but that's another story wink.gif ), but my first lunch box was Voyage to the bottom of the sea. Wish I still had it. That, and my old lost in space Robot... probably worth a fortune, now... sad.gif

I only remember one lunchbox.

It was red with matching flask, and had a picture of dinosaurs fighting on the front. After a couple of years, the picture had been torn, covered in jam, and faded, so it was ripped off. Taking its place, was a collection of classic bike stickers (my dad owns several classic motorcycles). That's the only one I remember.

Talking of school apparel, did anyone else have 'book bags'; those clear plastic bags which you slipped your exercise books and reading books into? I hated those. The zip never, ever, worked after more than a week of use.

never had one of those. I understand clear stuff is more popular these days, ever since Columbine... what a tragedy that was. Although, as an unpopular kid myself, i always knew it was a matter of time, before one of us went postal... sad.gif

I think, I'm not sure, it was a pink lunchbox with Minnie and Mickey Mouse. And they were in a classroom.. and Minnie was making Micky a love note, or something. o.o; There were a bunch of hearts there. :B

I had a red box with Garfield and Odie. It was replaced soon after by something stupid, but it was cool while it lasted.

So many smutty answers to this... wink.gif

But to keep it civilised - mine was red. For the life of me I can't remember what was on it but it's on the tip of my tongue.

Mine was a dark blue box with a "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" sticker on top. It had everyone in that big car with Roger Rabbit hanging out the back.

Actually, we have a large range of ages among forumites, the youngests being around thirteen. You may be the oldest. Who knows? But there are those here around your age, too. We here are like the frat in Old School, neither community status nor age apply here. happy.gif

Right on...at least some are willing to admit what they had. Looks like there might be just a few too many repressed memories for others. I wish I had that luxury.

Here's another admission while we're on the subject. In second grade my Brother and I BOTH had "Welcome Back Kotter" lunchboxes. For all intents and purposes, we should've been ridiculed to death. But no...everyone thought they were cool. That show was way popular at the time. You want age dating...? You got it on that one!

Those boxes are long gone. But a few years ago, while going through my Mom's house, I found one of the Thermoses. I gave it to my Brother. He flipped out.
Said he wished he still had his "Clash Of The Titans" lunchbox. Now that one kicked ass...why do I remember this stuff?

"LOOK!...It's altehase! Lets point our fingers and laugh!"

"MOM! MOM!...make them stop!"

Oops...!? Did I say that out loud?

i never had a lunch box until i got to university. i bought myself a metal spider-man one with john romita sr. style spider-man and green goblin on it.

before that i had a star trek lunch bag. it was black and had the insignia of starfleet, vulcan, romulas, the klingon empire, et al in gold. i got it around the time that ds9 came out and used it through junior high and high school.

i was the biggest geek in the lunch room and proud of it!
