In all seriousness, if the sun were to rise and set in the oposite direction, from tomorrow do either of you think you would noice? (Frog)

or

Earth changes direction and the sun comes up over there. Do you give a toss? (Pab)

I think I would notice the change but not realise what had happened, just be aware that something is wrong and be creeped out.

My sense of impending doom would grow higher, yes. I think I'd feel odd forever, or at least a while. After I figured it out (assuming), I'd probably hope for superpowers.

I think I'd notice pretty quickly - assuming it was Summer. I could probably go through all of Autumn/Winter without noticing.

Only because my front garden gets the sun at the end of the day as the houses to the left impede it. If the sun came up the other way then my front garden would have the sun most of the day and my climbing rose would look more healthy. wink.gif

When I drive to work in the morning, the sun is in my eyes.
When I drive home from work in the evening, the sun is in my eyes.

I'd notice, because I'd no longer be blinded twice a day.

I probably wouldn't notice if the ocean wasn't two blocks away and this town's streets didn't operate via north, south, east and west.

I'd notice because of the way my car is parked

In the morning the sun is always in my review window...at night it always sets in the field behind my house smile.gif

I don't think I would notice unless someone pointed it out to me.

I voted "Would probably walk around for the rest of life feeling a little diconcerted, not kowing why" because I would...unless someone pointed it out to me, although I'm not sure I would link the two were it to happen!

I'd notice. On my way to college in the morning I like to look down the road at the rising sun. Pretty worried if I couldn't see it.

I'd notice after a while. Things like where it normally is, lack of blindness on the way to college etc. But it'd take me a while. I didn't notice the huge brick arch outside my college entrance was missing when we went back last month. For two weeks unsure.gif

I honestly don't think it would be obvious to me. I'd probably start feeling a bit eerie though when walking home in the evening, what with the shadows being in the opposite direction.

I guess the sun is kinda important to me by the fact that it rises and sets everyday.

If it were to go the other way though, would that mean that everything/ we would all start doing things the other way around?

I've got a wonderingment (new word!) that if everyone on the planet came together and stood on, say, the isle of wight, and then jumped at the same time - landing back on earth at the same time - could we alter the rotation/movement of the earth?

How much pressure is needed to push the earth into an orbit to new galaxies? Why build and send spaceships millions of light years away, when all we have to do is simply get the whole population of earth together and jump at the same time.

What do you reckon?

That is, if you could contrive a way to get 6 billion people on the isle of wight. ^^;;

I might notice...after a while...but I doubt it. I don't notice obvious things. Did you know that in different hemispheres (N/S) water swirls down in different directions, like when you flush the potty? (So I've heard.) I definately wouldn't notice that, although some people claim to have been disconcerted by the change of swirly direction. Those people are spending too much time watching the toilet.
