Any character! Any medium! Who do you most identify with?

Film: I am, without a doubt, Marwood (the 'I' character from 'Withnail and I'), but I have moments where I'm a little like The Dude ('Big Lebowski'), and others when I'm like Captain America (Peter Fonda's character in 'Easy Rider'). Depends on my mood.

Books: Three spring to mind, each one being close but not precisely there - Ford Prefect ('Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy'), Crowley ('Good Omens' by Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman) and Vimes (various Pratchett). They all have a certain flawed world-weariness, which I can identify with.

Television: Tricky. Those of you who have seen 'Spaced' (cult sitcom about two twentysomethings who pretend to be a couple to secure a nice London flat) will know what I mean when I say I'm Tim, but mainly due to my girlfriend being Daisy. She hates it when I say that, but it's just true wink.gif

Comics: I have limited experience in the field, but I identify in an odd way with John Constantine (of 'Hellblazer' fame). I could never hope to be as cool as him, mind...

Games: Well I look like Hojo (the most underrated villain in game history - kicking it up a storm in FFVII), but I've never really identified with game characters. They tend to be irritatingly brash or deeply introspective. Although, like most male Final Fantasy fans, I would give my eye teeth to be Sephiroth (FFVII again). Raawrrr...

What about you? I need to know!

Persona...

That game is proper bonkers... I like the way you can communicate with the monsters and stuff - nice idea.

BTW, don't stick to the fields I chose. If you identify with a person in an advert, in a painting, or tattooed on the back of a sweaty man's head, tell us about it.

Well, some of my friends (Pheonix) tell me that I'm Mittens. I'm not to sure about that whole monosexual regime part though.
I think I am Squall from FFVIII. Cause I don't talk unless I have to, or I'm online.
TV - that guy from that show, You know the one.
Comics - Umm... Probably Shinji Ikari from Evangelion. But my favorite character is definitely Gambit from the X-men.

I don't identify with characters from books and movies but if I had to pick I'd say I'm an odd mix of Wolverine from X-Men, Arthur Dent from Hitchhikers Guide and Rory from the Gilmore Girls.

Yeah, I'm odd. Deal with it.

Must be a Thursday, never could get the hang of Thursdays.

Hmmm..........

I don't identify with anyone that I can think of. Ummm....maybe its just cuz I am me and no one can do a better job at being me than myself. If that makes any sense. dry.gif

TV - Bernard from Black Books, only sans driknig and smoking. Just lazy, ill-temerped and out of touch.

Book - Arthur Dent. Perpetual feeling of coasting along wihout any real idea of what's happening while people have conversations that go way over my head. And all I really want out of it all is a decent cup of tea.

Game - Anthony from Eternal Darkness. I suffered a horribl disease-ridden death while trying to protect Charlemange from a nasty liche-type, only to have my sould bound to my dead body until I was struck down a second time by a monk who, centuries later, found himself in the midst of a horrible conspiracy involving the Inquisition. And I look a bit like him.

'Just got Eternal Darkness and just managed to do that bit with Antony. 'S ver good innit?

Films: Deckard in Blade Runner (possibly)... Or possibly George Clooney in Dusk 'Til Dawn just for his sheer bemusement about what the hell is going on in the world. Maybe there's a bit of Neo in me too with the whole 'change the world with your thoughts' thing. A guy's got to dream.

Books: Cayce Pollard in the new William Gibson novel, Pattern Recognition, is uncannily like me.

Comics: Possibly Bateau in Ghost in the Shell, maybe Dr Manhatten in The Watchmen maybe with a sprinkling of Dream from The Sandman. Although more realistically I'm more like Lenore.

Games: I am Lara Croft. Except without the guns, the boobs, the tomb raiding bit and Angelina Jolie's lips. Or maybe I'm the guy from Shadow of Memories; my fashion sense possibly is a bit iffy and I tend to die quite often. Or maybe... Nah... I know! Raziel in Soul Reaver! I'm a soul sucking ex-angel!

Ahh, Sandman... along with Hellblazer, about the only comic I know more than damn all about. Top stuff, too.

Whilst Death is traditionally sexier, I've always been more of a Delirium fan. There's something wonderfully childlike and sweet about her - and her hair is usually quite fantastic.

Hmmm... I may have to track down a pic for future avatarage...

Roofle! laugh.gif

Excellent choices all - especially Raziel. I loved how he came into his own in the second Soul Reaver. A right little vampiric bastard.

Getting sarcastic with your demon God, Razzer? Givin' it some lip to those that shape your destiny? Nice one son...

Sorry, I just spotted that. Nice one!

The best curmudgeonly Irish character since Father Jack.

I love the scene in the first episode where he taunts the skinheads.

Milwall! That's the one. Have you heard this chant? 'Milwall, Milwall, you're all really dreadful, and all your girlfriends are unfulfilled and alienated...'

Classic.

Mind you, one of my mates is Bernard Black - but not Irish. He's got the drinking/smoking/ranting down to a fine art, though.
