Gorgeous Cath!! I love the understated simplicity of the necklace with the pink beads, sometimes I think jewellery can be way too busy, it loses it's elegance.

Those are very pretty. Perhaps you should sell them on E-bay. I've gotten a couple of unique pieces from people who make jewerly to sell on E-bay. Just a thought.

You might be intrested in this type of clay they make.... Its made with semi precious metals and you shape it how you want it, throw it in a kiln and all the non-metal-y bits burn away leaving you with the design you created.
I'm not sure on the brand as of right now but once I find a website I'll post a link....

If you could let me know about it that'd be really great because it might come in usefull for something me and Wyvern are working on as well.
Thanks everyone.

Wow, Cath, you are really talented! Everything is beautiful, truly. I always liked pearls, but I thought they were better the way you do them instead of in pearl necklaces or blacelets.
Isn't jewelry making sort of tedious and you still have to design everything! It would be a true injustice not to sell your work.

I've never sold any of my stuff it's all just been give as presents when I make them usually when I need to save some cash.

True indeed, I think it has something to do with the statement it makes, the way Cath has used them draws your attention to the beauty of each item. Rather than being drowned out in a mass were the individual beauty is overpowered which can happen with ropes of pearls or any bead or stone for that matter.
Often the most powerful statement a piece of jewellery can make is contained within its simplicity.
I think this is definately one of your best ones yet Cath m'dear.

The first set is gorgeous. Really gorgeous. The wedding one is beautiful, too - it goes really well with the dress.
And the mice are the most amazingly cool thing I have ever seen
Have you ever come across tea bag folding? I make cards with it - yet another craft thing which saves money
You might like it. Or not. I wonder if it would work with some sort of metallic thing?

Maile has always interested me. I have been tempted multiple times to buy the wire and tools for making my own rings and teaching myself how to make it, but never got around to it.

Ditto. It would probably be a good thing to learn on my way to school in the morning (hour long ride....) Though I've heard its rather expensive

Thanks that brilliant I think we might be able to look into uses for that.
This site has a really clear way of describing how to do the basic technique and also has how to do more complicated knits if you decide that you want to look into it more once you get going.
basic chain mailFor the links I'd say find somewhere that sells jewellery fastings and but a big bag of Jump Rings (the larger loops you use to atach pendants and ends of chains). They're are a reasonable cheap link to practice on and make nice jewellery. There are places you can buy steal rings from if you wanted to but the jump rings are a softer metal to practice with.
This may be pretty obvious but can make one hell of a difference if you dont know:- When opening the rings dont pull the 2 ends away as if straightening the ring out twist them to the side so it looks a bit like a spring.
Once you have a reasonable starting strip of joined links you might find it easier to pin it to a board to keep it still.
If you get stuck or want any more advice just PM me and I'll see what I can do.

I acctually never thought of using jump rings.... I kept having images of finally getting the steel rings and totally ruining them all.... Thanks for the advice and the site ^^
