fight each other to the death. They don't even have to be alive or even very famous. They even sometimes bring back people who've died on the show. There is usually a reason for the fights but it's often tenuous.

For those who haven't seen or heard about it, Celebrity Deathmatch is a claymation show on MTV which "does just what it says on the tin" as the saying goes.

My friend and I were discussing the battle of Douglas Adams and Edgar Allen Poe just yesterday (anthologies of their work looked very similar)
