Has anyone else got an audioscrobbler account?

Basically, its a plugin for whatever media player you use, which records all the songs you listen to and makes lovely graphs for you so you can look at it and say "LIES! I don't listen to that much Brand New!"

Then you can join groups and go "Ah, is that what people with similar tastes to me listen to" or "I didnt realise Radiohead were actually the most popular band on the internet" or my personal favourite: "Hooray, IE users do have worse taste in music than firefox users."

But anyway, yeah, if theres enough people using it, I want to start a matazone group there, so we can see what Other Side users actually do listen to most.

I do! 'tis a fun fun thing. But I keep not listening to music on Winamp at the moment, so it doesn't get updated too often. D'oh.

Ahar. Actually, I'd already found yours. You've got an AFI avatar, so I checked out your profile, which led me to your MySpace or LiveJournal or whatever it was, which had a link to your audioscrobbler.

Incidently, you're approximately a month younger than my brother, who is also a hampshire based AFI obsessive. Its curious how small the world really is.

I joined the group, probably messed up the stats a bit though, with my weird music taste and over the top pixies-listening..

I've just joined the group( destructogirl)!! Have only just set up my Audioscrobbler account so not quite sure what I'm doing yet!!

I opened a forum for the Matazone group, so if you have any questions about it ask them in there. However, as we already have much nicer forums here, I doubt I'll be doing any actual chatting there.

The audioscrobbler forum is being really slow and not letting me post, so I'll say here:

The whole site moves quite slowly, and it often takes them a while to update. Especially the top artists/top tracks lists.

It could be that the tracks you're playing aren't tagged properly, so the plug-in won't read them

Does it still record the songs I skip through on random quickly muttering "gah what crap I listen to"? For I do not want the world to notice that.

You have to play at least half the song or 4 minutes (whichever happens first) before the track is submitted.

Nah, I'm such a plum, I didn't have WMP 9, I had 8!! So it's all fixed now
I love it, I've been mucking around with it all day, and setting up forums and stuff!

Seems like a nifty enough idea. Good job that it doesn't registered tracks you skip by, there'd be a hell of a lot of unutterable crap under my name if it did.

Words cannot describe how jealous I am. I normally live near portsmouth, so when I heard they were going there I was delerious. Then I found out that was 9 days after I go back to uni.

I just signed up for an account ('mooped' - dammit how many moops can there be in the world?) and joined the Matazone group, though my profile'll most likely be cack since I tend to put CDs on repeat at work.
