The earworm is a strange and deadly thing. It plants itself into your grey matter and will _not_ get out. I'm making a top ten list of the most fatal ones--any suggestions?

Currently, I've got "Two Princes" by Spin Doctors and it keeps repeating over and over. Dear God, when will it get out?

"And if you--want to call me baby"

depressed lonely crazy person
whenever i hear anything by Holly Valance i gets stuck in my head.
Other than that i usually start the earworms just for fun. Because how cool is it to sing a line of a poppy song and then have 3 people in the checkout line in front of you start humming it tongue.gif
Sir Psycho Sexy
oh...not a thread about the Wrath of Kahn...oh well

Not long ago I had songs from Aladdin (the Disney movie) stuck in my head....now look what you've gone and done!!!

*unders his breath* Mr Aladdin sir, what will your pleasure be?

Damn you!

Disney songs have a way of doing that. I blame Elton John.

I've found that 1998 was a booster year for earworms in music. That was when Goo Goo Doll's "Iris" came out, and Semisonic's "Closing Time". Catch 22's "Keasbey Nights" came out then, as did Great Big Sea's "End of the World" cover.

*death groan*

They've all gotten into my head at once! *writhes*

I love Great Big Sea's cover!

However, a song that is constantly in my head is "It sucks to be me" from Avenue Q.

That is just unutterably... Cute! *Dies from sugar rush*

I had Night on Bald Mountain stuck in my head for a few hours, but that's not quite the same...no lyrics, just orchestra.

I vote 'Cats in the cradle' by anyone... If it comes on the radio, the radio goes off... or out the window!
PsychWardMike
I find myself constantly singing "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" from the Lion King. Broadway cast recording, of course. So much better!
trunks_girl26
The Black Eyed Peas just sang "Where is the Love?," so now that's stuck.....hopefully not forever.....

Anything from the 'Buffy the Musical' episode can loop in my head for days, purely because Sues has watched it so often.

There was a point where I had VNV Nation's 'Empires' album looping, but I was listening to it a couple of times every day, so I only had myself to blame.

I usually end up being able to recite any lyrics and addicted to the music that I use in animations, purely because I hear them all at least 30 times over while making them. Often it's probably more like 70+ times, and that's enough to get anything stuck in your head.

Oh I love it as well! But it is an earworm. *shakes head violently* Won't---get---out!

I just attended a sort of amateur cabaret thing, so now there are far too many show tunes in my head. Lots of RENT. Lots of Guys and Dolls. Lots and lots of Wicked.

And they're all bouncing about my brain.

"Well sir, all I can say is if I were a bell--DAMMIT!"

Phantom of the Opera's Angel of Music is my favorite, and frequently gets stuck in my head. Of course, this is much to the dismay of my classmates as I start whistling and humming it in class.
PsychWardMike
Pfft. Music of the Night is where it's at!

But yeah, I went through a long period of time where "La Vie Bohemme" was stuck in my brain constantly.

It seems Reel Big Fish's "She Has A Girlfriend Now" is also an earworm, but it's very welcom in my little old briz-ain.
trunks_girl26
I like Music of the Night too, but I can sing Angel of Music. (and I can play both- kind of)

And aparently, the One Tree Hill opening theme is now stuck in my head (the roomie's a little obsessed)
PsychWardMike
The music from the Footloose musical I'm in is in my head. I'm getting rather tired of it.

The tune that the prisoners whistle in The Great Escape. It's a brilliant, simple ditty that loops so easily that it's hard to ever finish whistling it without the aid of a drill to the forehead.

That used to be my sons theme tune when he first started crawling - used to have it play in my head EVERY day for six months.

Course, now he's walking I don't have time to get a song stuck in my head, I'm usually too busy trying to stop him from destroying something. dry.gif biggrin.gif

Well I have had Magical Trevor 2 looping for the last hour so it's pretty well stuck in the space between my ears

Pachabell's Cannon. Floating in there right now. It's a pretty song, but it's distracting me from the paper I have to write for tomorrow.....*sigh* It's so pretty though......
