Just a note to tell people that I know.

I suspect that it was a runaway PHP script run by someone else on my server that took up all the resources, meaning that this site was responding extremely slowly, if it did respond at all.

I don't normally get online during the day... today I did... Lucky me...

Duly noted.

Prior to that day, I've had a couple of similar problems getting on to the site - it throws MySQL errors at me. Sometimes just a "not responding", othertimes it declares problems with the database? I can't remember what it says off the top of my head, but it looks like it logs the errors for someone to view so... ?



EDIT: Problems aren't so much with getting on the site, more with getting on the forums.

Yeah, there have been problems with other sites on the server using too many resources, so these people have now been moved to dedicated servers. In theory this shouldn't happen anymore.

This week should be a good test of this new hosting package. I'm planning on putting a new game online and they are always good for devouring weak servers.
