Well done for having the most posts in 7 days, but if you're on 2000 in another seven then you should be aware that you're spamming again.

Spam is (this is not a set definition, just guide) a post with no content, eg. 'bo' or of no relevance to the topic being dicussed. As I've said before, if you found something really funny then it's good to tell people this, but if all your posts are 'hehe' then you know that you're doing it too much. Another guide is that if your signature is generally longer than your posts then either a) your sig is too long, or you're possibly spamming.

There are no prizes for posting the most on this forum, if I could find a way to disable the post count I would be quite tempted, but I think that would be a little evil

actually, the 'bo selecta' thread we've been postin on isn't the origional bo selecta thread. if you read the first post there, then you'll realize that all the bo's and selecta's have actually been spamming cause they have no relevance to the topic cause it's jus someone talkin about the origional thread jus wanted to point that out ......... i think i'll try and find a life now

Well, that depends on your definition of "Topic". If by topic, you mean whatever the first post on a thread was about, then yeah, we're all a bunch of pseudo-spammers. But if you allow that a "topic" evolves over time the longer the thread grows, then the Bo Selecta's aren't spam at all, as the topic moved from being about Bo Selecta to posting Bo Selecta.

Spam is only really spam in a context. If a thread truly is designated for the quirky random pointlessness that is Spam, then I don't see what the problem really is. If someone's filling a serious topic with one-liners that are only marginally relevant, that's when Spam is a problem.

Um, yes. I'll agree with that diagnosis. Spam is a huge problem on this board, and although most of the time it's okay, it isn't always...

I think we all do it to varyin degrees... I mean, look at all the topics that go off-topic, it's more like a chat room than a thread most o the time.

But that's cool! I actually quite like that! I find chat rooms too overwhelmin (or too quiet!) an this way I can keep pace! Its also pretty entertainin, which is prolly why I hang here so much
