EDIT: I should point out now that the reason I put the "OMG" thing is becaouse I abhor Christian rock and here I am with a Christian rock song I wrote.
A bit has gone down for me and I've been feeling like there was really no one left except for God. I thought of the chorus at work and it just kinda went on from there.
Everyone but You
by Tragick the Clown
Abandoned by everyone but you, God.
Abandoned by everyone but you, my Lord.
Abandoned by everyone but you, God.
Abandoned by everyone but you, MY LORD!
Spilling two tears, one from each eye.
I feel them walking away from me.
Scratching and clawing, marks on my face.
Why in Your name must I lose them now?
ABANDONED BY EVERYONE BUY YOU, GOD!
ABANDONED BY EVERYONE BUT YOU, MY LORD!
Two sweet loves, friends forever.
Brown and gray eyes are closed on me.
My heart is broken, my soul shattered
I need to heal. Will you help me?
You’re my only comfort at this time of my life.
Forgive me for resisting you.
Give me the strength, the fortitude
To overcome the times ahead.
ABANDONED BY EVERYONE BUY YOU, GOD!
ABANDONED BY EVERYONE BUT YOU, MY LORD!
YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE HERE FOR ME!
ABANDONED BY EVERYONE BUY YOU, GOD!
Why must it be this way?
Why did they leave me?
Why am I alone?
ABANDONED BY EVERYONE BUY YOU, GOD!
ABANDONED BY EVERYONE BUT YOU, MY LORD!
ABANDONED BY EVERYONE BUY YOU, GOD!
ABANDONED BY EVERYONE BUT YOU, MY LORD!
Empower me, God.
Protect me, God.
Guide me, God.
Help me, God.

flipping heck, shove it down everyones throats why don't you?
I'm sure that will go down great with those who are enthusiastically christian, but busk that on the streets in the Uk and you'd get thumped! Its tends to be a bit more low key over here.
Saying that if its helped you through a rough patch thats great

Exactly.
Anyway, I'm not excessively Christian, but I really like the song. But what I find funny is the topic title - "
Omg! I Wrote A Christian Rock Song!"

The reason I'm making a fuss about it is that I hate Christian rock; most of it seriously sucks, dude. Writing one for me is one of those "wow, this never happens" kind of things (that and I think it's a good metal song).
And I'm not trying to shove anything down anyone's throat. Take it at face value.
EDIT: I can't stress enough how much I hate Christian rock. I've found one good Christian metal band. Everytime someone turns on DC Talk or Slick Shoes, I want to ram hot pokers in my ears. I can't stand that "I'm into Jesus" crap. It doesn't relate to real life.
EDIT EDIT: I hate Christian rock.

sorry, I've just been having a really rough time at work cause the mad evangelical guy in the office is being deliberatly difficult towards me as he knows I dislike ranty religion and I'm quietly pagan in my little corner.
didn't mean to bite your head off.
by the way, did you realise Evanessance are Christian rock?
Yep, listen carefully to the lyrics sometime.
Example:
"Even In Death" (1st verse as its long)
Give me a reason to believe that you're gone
I see your shadow so I know they're all wrong
Moonlight on the soft brown earth
It leads me to where you lay
They took you away from me but now I'm taking you home
"Bring Me To Life"
how can you see into my eyes like open doors
leading you down into my core
where I’ve become so numb without a soul my spirit sleeping somewhere cold
until you find it there and lead it back home
Chorus
(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become
now that I know what I’m without
you can't just leave me
breathe into me and make me real
bring me to life
Chorus
(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside...
(I can’t wake up)
Bring me to life
(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)
Bring me to life
frozen inside without your touch without your love darling only you are the life among the dead
all this time I can't believe I couldn't see
kept in the dark but you were there in front of me
I’ve been sleeping a thousand years it seems
got to open my eyes to everything
without a thought without a voice without a soul
don't let me die here
there must be something more
bring me to life
chorus
(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside...
(Bring me to life)
I’ve been living a lie, there’s nothing inside
(Bring me to life)

Doesn't have to be Christian Rock, at most it might just have biblical influences. But I don't think Amy Lee intended it to be Christian.

A few of the Evanescence songs were penned at Bible Camp. Where Amy and the dude (can't mind his name) met. She intended to have her music as an inspiration - not to promote a Christian message - more to promote a Spiritual message. But that said: some of the songs are rooted in Christian mythos.
And Ri: I like it. I really really do. I can understand why it meant something to you.

But Evanescence has songs about other stuff, too. Same with, say, Nodes of Ranvier or As I Lay Dying or Avenged Sevenfold, but, once again, they sing about other stuff. Living Sacrifice (CHRISTIAN METAL AT ITS BEST!) has every song about God in a very declarative style. I write songs about how I feel. Lemme illustrate:
Forgive Me, Father
by Tragick the Clown
No matter how hard I try, I cannot fix this.
It’s like every mistake I’ve ever made
Likes to haunt my life like Mary’s ghost
And I can’t find a way to fix this.
DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!
Suicidal soul.
FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! FEAR!
Fear of more regret.
RAGE! RAGE! RAGE! RAGE!
Sorrowful asylum.
HATE! HATE! HATE! HATE!
Hating my transgressions.
When I see all the things that I have done.
I want to purge my soul of everything.
I cannot seem to fathom self-forgiveness
But I must find a way to end this.
DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!
Suicidal soul.
FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! FEAR!
Fear of more regret.
RAGE! RAGE! RAGE! RAGE!
Sorrowful asylum.
HATE! HATE! HATE! HATE!
Hating my transgressions.
Forgive me, Father.
You know I can’t.
DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!
Suicidal soul.
FEAR! FEAR! FEAR! FEAR!
Fear of more regret.
RAGE! RAGE! RAGE! RAGE!
Sorrowful asylum.
HATE! HATE! HATE! HATE!
Hating my transgressions.
I don't think I'll see a music video for that on TBN anytime soon. I felt like that for a long time, bogged down by guilt and depression, unable to feel forgiven by God because I couldn't forgive myself.
Here's an angry one about people screwing over a friend of mine:
The Loyal One
by Tragick the Clown
You came in and stole her heart
Just to use her feeble flesh.
You will never see her pain
Or the tears run down her face.
Anguish, three times the agony.
I watched you tear her soul apart.
Whatever reasons that you could give
Could not excuse your sadistic game.
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you hurt someone I love?!
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you cross the loyal one?!
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you hurt someone I love?!
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you cross the loyal one?!
Tampering with her tainted heart.
I can’t believe what you have done.
You injured a part of my soul
Someone whose value’s uncomparable.
Time will show what you have caused.
You had better wish for the best.
The pain you caused could make her strong.
Until then, know that you are marked.
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you hurt someone I love?!
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you cross the loyal one?!
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you hurt someone I love?!
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you cross the loyal one?!
Liar. User. Abuser. Betrayer. Why did you hurt someone I love?
Liar. User. Abuser. Betrayer. Why did you cross the loyal one?
Liar. User. Abuser. Betrayer. Why did you hurt someone I love?
Liar. User. Abuser. Betrayer Why did you cross the loyal one?
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you hurt someone I love?!
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you cross the loyal one?!
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you hurt someone I love?!
Liar! User! Abuser! Betrayer! Why did you cross the loyal one?!
Why did you cross...
Why did you cross...
Why did you cross...
The loyal one.
And a nice one:
Sound of Infatuation
by Tragick the Clown
Lost...And then I’m found.
Weak...And then I’m strong.
Here...And then I’m gone.
I take a look into your eyes
And see myself in another light.
You saved me once again from myself.
Pain...And then bliss.
Hate...And then peace.
Cold...And then warmth.
My pleasure lies upon your skin.
I wonder if you’ll let me in.
Your sweet and tender kiss is what I crave.
You touched my soul again.
Rain came down on my face.
Now all I want right now
Is you.
Lost...And then I’m found.
Weak...And then I’m strong.
Here...And then I’m gone.
You touched my soul again.
Rain came down on my face.
Now all I want right now
Is you.
You touched my soul again.
Rain came down on my face.
Now all I want right now
Is you.
Is you.
Is you.
Is you.
Is you.
I write songs about my life. God just happens to be a part of it and "Everyone but You" is the closest thing to an actual Christian rock song I've ever come up with. It's funny because back before Tragick happened, I tried wroting songs about my Faith but it never worked out. Now that Tragick is alive and well, I've tried to stay secular but have come up with multiple spiritual songs. Ironic, isn't it?
