The song that was number 1 on my birthdate (2nd January 1975) was "Lonely this Christmas" by Mud (crap 70's glam band, cringe)

Rick Astley epitomises the very essence of popular music in the 1980s. A couple of high-charting singles, aided by Stock-Aitkend-Waterman, followed by humilating failure upon wanting to write his own music.

I'm not saying it's good music or anything, but it has an ancestry of trashy-cheesy-pop, a genre which continues to thrive in the UK charts.

Nope, I'm English, but I wasn't really a great fan of any sort of music whilst I was 0. Maybe I'll know on hearing, but the name doesn't jingle anybells. huh.gif
