I'm thinking of picking one up as since I squished one of me controllers under a reclining armchair. Thing is, I'm always a bit wary of getting third-party hardware - I've got a third party xbox wireless controller (excellant xmas pressie from my brother and sister in-law), and the sticks on that lack precision.
So, to the point, does anyone have an RF wireless PS2 controller, and is it good? Currently, I'm looking at a MadCatz one or a Joytech one, but I'll consider any if they're good. Links appreciated so I can be sure which one you're talking about.

When I were a lad, my remote control was a stick.

I have a MadCatz and as far as precision goes it was perfect. HOWEVER. I found that with extended play that the button layout started to do wonky things and buttons changed action assignments. This happened with both the PS2 and X-Box controllers. I found that cutting it off and cutting it back on worked to correct it. This may have been due to the batteries draining but I seem to remember it happening with new batteries as well.

Cheers f't'info Rav. My Xbox wireless one is a MadCatz, and while the wireless functionality is pretty seamless, just the general 'feel' of the controller isn't all that good - the triggers are a bit baggy - not at all a crisp as the official MS controllers, and likewise for the sticks.

Damn it, in your line of work you should be able to hunt down an electronic tech and lash him until he splices a standard controller together with wireless gear. It's suprisingly simple to do, and you get the best of both worlds.

My wireless internet is already showing a tendency to interfere with my wireless mouse. Filling my bedroom any further with radio waves can only compound my problems.

So you can't put in that HAM radio. *tsk tsk* Shame.

I used a PS2 wireless dance pad once (I know that's not what you're looking for, but here me out), and I was disappointed with it. Since hitting the arrows accurately is the whole point of the game, the pad was on 2-second delay and I'd keep on getting "boo"s even when I hit the arrows at the right times. I don't know if the regular controllers get delayed like that, but I would assume so.

Not really. They work like a charm for me, I know since I played through the entire Mercenaries game with it.
At least the Logitech ones.

Not necessarily, the Nintendo wavebird controller is very good, and has the advantage that if you have a cold room then you can play with your hands under the covers.
Get your minds out of the gutters!

That does look remarkably like a search-engine generated hit there, doesn't it?
I sincerely doubt that there will be many takers at the moment anyway. With the new platforms all coming out in the next year I expect most people won't be upgrading their tehnology for the current one anymore.
