Wheee, I've been on a bit of a gaming spree lately:
Baldur's Gate 2 (yay!)
Grim Fandango
Fahrenheit (what a poo last half that had)
Morrowind
Two puzzlers and two massive RPGs. Not a lot of time for studies. Oops. Though it is all good right now; our Ultimate team won its very first game at competitive level a week ago. We beat the Stirling University third team 7-6 after extra time. I got the winning point, too

joy...

*dons Jonman disguise* Nowhere any more, the company has stopped trading in the last couple of weeks. Previous to that time it was Special Reserve. They gave a great service and good prices. Goodness knows how they managed to not make a profit.

I did something this week that I've not done before. I bought another copy of a game that I had previously sold, so currently I'm playing Prince of Persia 2: Warrior Within. The abysmal nu-metal soundtrack is as annoying as ever, but the level design is still better than the majority of other platform games.

I've played through Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, and I think it's fantastic. It's a far better sequel to the legacy of the first game (The Sands Of Time) than the second in the series (Warrior Within); it's nice to see that Ubisoft actually listened to their critics and actively did something to address matters in their next game. It has one of the best final play-sequences that I've seen, and I look forward to working my way through to it again in the future. It does seem that the plot is resolved now (except perhaps for one small thing lost at sea) so it will be interesting to see how they approach any sequel they may/probably will decide to make.

I'm playing Wild Arms: Alter Code F. It's a remake of the original Wild Arms. Which is fortunate for me because I have yet to get my hands on a copy of the original original, since I only got into the series around number two. It's an excellent little RPG series that hardly anyone has heard of because it originated at almost the same time as the much more popular and flashy Final Fantasy VII. Imagine Wild West meets Science Fiction meets Fantasy.

N Game is a very nice bit of programming; I'm a little way off from being able to do that kind of thing in any reasonable time-frame yet.
Today I finished Half-Life. I got stuck last time I played it because I ran out of decent ammo to fight the Gonarch with, but this time I cruised through the whole thing. I was a bit disappointed by the ending though, I felt it was a bit of a cop out. Still, I now feel fully up-to-date and ready for Half-Life 2, whenever I get around to it.

Icewind Dale II - Like the original, this game is far worse than its Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment brethren. Still playable, though. Rather than fill your party up with NPCs you create your whole party at the start of the game which means you can Balance your party exactly how you want it, but it takes AGES. There's so many options, it's beyond silly. Most races have subraces (Human --> Human, Aasimar, Tiefling; Elf --> Elf, Drow, Wild Elf), and some classes have subclasses (3 types of paladin, 8 types of cleric).
I think the game suffers 'cause of this. It was the NPCs that made Baldur's Gate (Minsk and his minature giant space hamster) and Planescape Torment (Morte and his necrophilic tendancies).
I have also been playing the demo of Stubbs The Zombie: Rebel Without A Pulse. I recommend you all go out and download it right now, because this is a fantastic game. I'll be buying - yes, thats right, buying - it as soon as it comes out.

That was my game of choice to distract from revision a few years ago. I completely agree about the NPC thing though, that and the fact that once you reach a certain point it's completely impossible to progress without saving every 5 minutes - or maybe I just made an awful party at the start and didn't realise until halfway through the game.
I reformatted my PC now though and I'm not sure where my IWD savegame backups are or I'd be tempted to carry on playing.
Agh! I remember now, the backup savegames don't work at all because if the letter of the CD drives changes it suddenly tries to look in the wrong place and dies horribly when you move between game discs. >_< Such awful design there!
