So, who's waiting on them? I get mine at 10 am tomorrow and I know for a fact I have done spectacularly badly. And that's not just me being self deprecating, I know that I have done terribly. All the same, I'm still incredibly nervous. Gonna catch the bus up to college and get them.

*poos self slightly*

Interesting. We don't get ours until two in the afternoon.
little_bear
Ah, they get 'em at different times at different colleges. I know a girl down in Basingstoke who won't get hers till twelve.

I did stunningly badly in my A-levels, got 2 D's and an E, still passes mind! laugh.gif
Personally, I put it down to sheer laziness, lack of interest in the subject....and I played my N64 in the common room for most of the second year...probably first as well, ho hum, I got into Uni anyway.
CrazyFooIAintGettinOnNoPlane
I get mine at 10, but the ucas thing is supposed to be up now at 7am! Gah, this was such a stupid idea, I'm so tired! Big change after getting up at 1pm yesterday.

If only I was this motivated to actually REVISE..

My sister didn't have an allocated time to get here results. She could just come into school whenever she wanted. She took math and French ASs early. She got an A and a B respectively. She is too clever for her own good.
Mata
Back when I was doing them I got B,C,D, and E. I think I should do an evening class just to get myself an 'A' for the whole set. I think I also got something like a D in AS maths when I was 16, which wasn't bad considering we'd only been taught about one third of the sylabus.

Even with these fairly average grades I still got into uni, got a first class honours degree, and onto a PhD course, so don't stress about things too much.
spuglet
My 6th form released them at 10am today, but if you turned up early they gave them out anyway.

three Bs and an A for me biggrin.gif

I get mine in an hour and ten minutes. I don't want them. I'm actually feeling sick with apprehension right now - if I pass, I won't have done well enough, if I fail, I either don't get to do the courses next year, or mum kills me, one of the two. I spent 6 hours a day for 2 weeks revising biology, so I hope I passed that, cos I sacrificed my maths grade for it. And I did abysmally in music...

Well done Spuglet! (I've not seen you around here much lately. Have you been away or have I been looking in the wrong places?)

Fingers are crossed for the rest of you. It's making typujng very difficult.
Usurper MrTeapot
Last year I read off my AS results.

D
U
D
E

I got DUDE for my results. Beat that.
little_bear
I failed.
Mata
I'm sorry to hear that LB.

Did you have a target for what you needed to get into uni? Try clearing, there's usually a place for everyone who wants one.

Thanks! I have been away, If I haven't been with the exams, i've been looking for a job, or pissing about with finally getting around to getting my provis - i shall be learning to drive.

Good luck to everyone else, and well done to everyone!

It isnt the end of the world if you didn't get the results you wanted, theres loads of options.
CrazyFooIAintGettinOnNoPlane
I didn't quite get the grades I needed, but they let me in anyway. smile.gif Somehow I got two B's and a C! I would have loved to get DUDE results though.

I had to get As, because I want to go to Med School. I didn't get As, or even Bs. Plus, medecine being as competitive as it is, I don't hold out much hope for my chances of getting in.

"Would you like fries with that sir?"

I was right sad.gif

A in General Studes - cos that's gonna be SO useful.

B in Biology - 4 marks off an A. I worked SO hard for this, and sacrificed every other grade.

B in Chem - could have got an A if I hadn't worked for Bio, was 10 marks off.

C in Maths - could have got an A if I hadn't worked for Bio.

C in Music - which was pretty good, for m class, but overall rubbish.

This means I have to pull Maths and Chem up to an A in retakes next year. And Mum's disappointed. "At least you can retake with something to build on." And she's making me give up music sad.gif
Chronotub
My AS results
Maths D
Phisics D
Psychology B
History B
I would have been dicipointed if I had still wanted to do an enginering degree, but I decided against it in favor of phsychology I recon I can get history and psychology up to As with out to much trouble if I redoo one of the psychology exams and history courswork next year

I'm sorry, what? She's disappointed AND she's making you give up music?! How is it any of her business what the hell YOU choose to study? On these grounds, I have a severe dislike of your mother. (Be more supportive woman!!)
porcelainwarrior
Hear hear SPS - I say take what the hell you want! I've read your topic in Personal Concerns GothicAngel and the last thing you should do is feel you have to bend to her wishes - especially on something as important as school. If you enjoy music and think you can improve then take it! For cripes sake - you'll need something fun to do among all the formulae and big numbers blink.gif For what it's worth I think those are great grades, especially when you admit yourself you had difficulty with some of your classes, go you!

Well, my head of year agrees about dropping music, though for different reasons. I have to take general studies A2, cos I did spectacularly well in the AS by some random fluke, so theres no point in me redoing it. I'm also taking GCSE Spanish (I did GCSE Italian this year) as a fourth language, and the music department love me so I doubt I'll be banned from there forever. I'm not planning on having a primary career in music, and they can't take the extracurricular music away from me. So... meh.

Besides, I don't like arguing with her. I want to make her proud.
Daria
I got
D- Biology
D- Art
C-French
C-Chemistry

...

I was expecting the d in art as I did not do well in the course. Art AS prefers a type of artist which isn't me...
But I got an A in one chem exam, and a D in the other (re-taking one of the exams) and I got an A in my french listening paper, and a B in one of my bio exams, so I'll be re-taking two of them (bio) but leaving the rest.

Aberdeen uni entry requirements for A-Levels are CDD.
I think I might make it.

Well done to all those who got results (no matter whether you failed or not, you at least attended college/ 6th form).
Mata
I know what you mean about not being the type of artist that the exams are looking for. I had that problem pretty much all the way through my education. I taught myself to use Photoshop about twelve years ago, and was then told by my 'teachers' that 'you cannot make artwork on computers' (meaning that art was impossible on computers, not that they would not let me do it). I made sure that they saw a copy of The Guardian when they wrote a good review of my webart site biggrin.gif
Samorine
I got my GCSE results yesterday. They're not outstanding, but I didn't expect them to be with the amount of work I put in.

AA in Dual Science
A in Maths
B in English
B in English Lit
B in IT
B in RE (I took the subject)
C in Sociology
C in History

Got more than enough to get into the 6th form college of choice, however.

I got an A for AS music which I took 2 years early. Yay! biggrin.gif
Mata
Nice one Sam! You beat me by a 'B' when I got three each of the top grades.

Ex, well done on getting an A so early!

I think one of the main reasons that my art teachers didn't like me was because whenever they suggested anything, I always seemed to do the opposite.
It wasn't intentional, but I think that years of being a "difficult" and stubborn child has somehow made it that way.
And also because I'm new to this school (as my old school doesn't have a 6th form centre so I had to go there) and my old art teacher had a very very different approach to things. I.e she would encourage my ideas and not try to enforce her own upon me.
Or I'm just a crap artist dry.gif
