And as for the funky part,........ I just liked the name, I suppose its the 60's kind of funky! Whats the forties

funky may I ask????
Gather 'round, Chillun' and let ol' grandma Quoth lay some heavy Jive on ya...
Once upon a time, when the word "Funk" first came into vogue, it stood for stench, pong, or B.O....pretty much a very bad smell... and usually associated with poor hygiene... I beleive that it was also a last name as well, as in "Funk and Wagnalls' encyclopedia" (Which was an oft used inside joke, on Rowan and Martin's laugh in... as in: "Put
that in your Funk and Wagnall's"). Can you imagine being Mr. or Ms. Funk?
Over time, the word evolved a meaning like: "To be under a dark cloud". A very introspective, but bad, mood.
And, of course, Funky became, "Cool, down to earth, real."
(Remember in the song THriller, when Vincent Price was talking about "the funk of fourty thousand years"? that was pretty much a pun, as you could take it either way you pleased...).
And that there is th' real jive, turkeys...
