YES! I love that film! I think my favourite films sort of revolve around old comedians from Saturday Night Live- even though I hadn't ever watched it until last year sometime...

-Withnail & I, maybe the best British film ever made

-Lola Rennt, released in English-speaking territories as Run Lola Run

I'm not much of a film person but the few that have stuck in my mind, my favourites are Chocolat and Donnie Darko.

Monty Python's Meaning of Life!
Although there is a notable lack of Gilliam animations in there... still a good movie...

To my mind that's definitely the weakest of the Python films. Any particular reason why you like that one so much? (Although 'The Galaxy Song' is very good indeed.)

I thought the same. It seemed to be trying a bit too hard- a bit like the fourth series although the film had John Cleese in it.
Mr Creosote is still a family favorite for quoting after tea, and I still don't think that any film moment with Death has been done quite as funnily as in that film

I reckon it's a good movie, probably because I've only seen it once or twice; and I've watched Holy Grail and Life of Brian so much that I don't find them quite so funny anymore.
Plus, I didn't think ANFSCD was all it could have been. Still hilarious like all the others, though.

I watched Baz Luhrmann's Romeo+Juliet again a couple of days ago, and as usual cried my eyes out. Yes, I'm a big softie, but it's a brilliant version of what I think is justifiably called the greatest love story ever told, so if I'm going to cry at anything at least I have good taste while doing it. (He says, pretending that he's not prone to crying at loads of movies.)

Gross Point Blank is a wonderful comedy.
*trying to shift the subject back to films so she doesn't admit she is also a big softy who cries during sad scenes involving small children unhappy*

Oh I forgot, Etre et Avoir! That was an absoloutly amazing film, although almost all the people in the class thought it was boring. I also really liked the Monty Python flim where the men where hiding behind bushes and being blown up, but the name escapes me. Oh and the Holy Grail one.

That was "And now for something completely different". I like that film except as it is mainly just old sketches re-done with more of a budget and they have been modified for continuity, it annoys me. For instance there is the dead parrot sketch which goes into the lumberjack song. In the original series, the dead parrot sketch went into a very bizarre bit about Bolton and Notlob. The original run up sketch for the lumberjack song was about blood thirsty barber. When I watched the film I found it frustrating how they did this. And there is still something quite charming about someone falling down a trap door and you can still see the person's head...
/ends little lecture on origin of Monty Python sketches.../
I forgot to add to my list- Donnie Darko and The Magic Christian. And Naked Gun (all three). And Gremlins. And ...

Evil Dead 3.
I've lost count of how many times I've seen it. Was a time that I could recite the entire script. With actions. And voices.
But then again, Zatoichi rocks my socks. Hmmmm.....
Lets go for a nice middleground... The Happiness of the Katakuri's!
Man that movie is messed up.
PS: Saw Dark City for the first time the other day. Brilliance. I see where the Matrix ripped off a few things.
PPS: Yarrr, that thar moving pictures be vile witchery o' the highest order!

American Beauty Oh yes, how could I forget. Too many films to choose from! American Beauty was amazing. I saw it when I was too young to fully understand but I would recognise anything from it, the music, a scene, a line from the script. So it must have been good if I can remember something I didn't really understand.
