This thread is for talking about Lost Season 2, without giving anything away to those not fortunate enough to live in america, or not immoral enough to download illegally.

In case you got a little too curious then changed your mind, or clicked accidently, I'll white-out the text in this post. But trust me, if you haven't seen the end of season one, you really won't want to know anything about season 2.

Highlight:
So, yesterday was Episode 5 and we got to see Others for the first time. Their feet, at least. The one with the Teddy Bear... was that Walt? He'd stuck it on a leash, maybe as a replacement Vincent.

Or was it even the Others that took him at all? Sure, we were told the Others were coming for the child and then Walt got taken, but really, did those pirates look like they could move silently through a jungle?

And also, what the hell is going on with those numbers!? Obviously we're eventually going to find out what happens when they don't get pressed in time but I'm thinking that might be a season finale.
Remember, we've got another three seasons of this after this one. They don't want to give anything away too soon.

I just want to know why the heck they threw Rosario Dasin (sp?) in there.

I still have two episodes (this weeks and last weeks) taped that I need to watch. Bet you she dies in one of them.

Grrrrr

Spoiler Warning

I am not liking the evil charlie. He was the antihero of the first season - the recovering addict who'll do anything to save his girl. And now look at him, going round beating up women and stealing babies. At least when he stole the baby he thought he was doing the right thing, but in the latest episode he's gone right to the dark side. Even wears his hood up to cast spooky shadows on his face.

I can't see him surviving until the rescue. I get the feeling he's going to die heroically in one last act of redemption.

Finally this has finished in the UK this week... And in a big pile of complexity.

So, trying to recap on what happened:

Locke, Eco, and original-bloke-down-the-beach-hatch were down the beach-hatch when the elctromagentic pulse/thing went off. What the hell was that? Why did it change the colour of the sky for several seconds? How is that supposed to end the world?

The fantastic four had found all the journals from the observation-hatch just being dumped in a field. I guess the point there was to show that the experiment was to see how long they would continue observing, and that the beach-hatch (the main one) was the real thing... But what was the point of making people watch other people?

Michael gets back Walt and goes chugging off into the sunset, like a modern Steamboat Willie, and is told that the exact direction he should travel is the only way off of the island, but that he won't ever be able to get back or re-find the place. Spooky!

The fantastic four are being held at gunpoint by not-actually-bearded-bloke and the stupidly-named 'Miss Clue'. Seriously, what's up with the naming on this program? Locke opens a door, Eco repeats the beliefs of Locke, and now we have 'Clue'. Anyway, I suspect that there was something else on this strand that I've forgotten...

Sayid, Sun, and Jin are still lurking nearby, aren't they? Sayid, while scouting the fake village has discovered that the village-hatch was a fake.

The original guy from the beach-hatch's ex-grilfriend has been searching for him with vast resources, and a listening station that she set up has picked up the electromagnetic explosion/thing that came from the island.

Charlie and the Aussie girl have kissed.

I think that's everything...

We still don't know why the dead people in the cave near the beach had bags containing one white stone and one black stone in their pockets, but I'm not sure that this will be returned to any time soon. That was a detail from the first series that struck me as being somehow significant but remains unmentioned since then.

Did I miss anything?

a statue with only four toes?

Season 3 starts in the US on wednesday.
Mata
Ah yes, 'Where's the rest of the statue, but what's really bothering me is why does it only have four toes?' Grar! What on earth is that all about?

So, they appear to be on an island that's in some sort of electromagnetic hole in space, with only one direction in or out.

I guess there are three questions from here:

The Others: are they people who have ended up there over time, and eventually they have become the indigenous population? If this has been going on for millions of years then maybe the inbreeding has produced the four-toed feature... Although you need a big civilisation to be able to sustain the costs and effort required to build massive Collosus of Rhodes-style statues... I suspect I'm not going to be satisfied with the answer to that one when they find it!

How do the Others know about the way out? If it is the only way out, and people can't get back in through it, then how can they know that there isn't just some sea beast that eats everything that goes that way?

Was the island always naturally surrounded by the peculiar isolating field (part of the healing magic of the place, we must assume) or was this brought on my the Dharma project? Just from the name of the project, I'm suspecting that Shangri-La is going to come into this somewhere, at which point I will probably groan quite loudly.

So that's my thoughts... Is there anything else that you're wondering about?

Needless to say NO SERIES 3 SPOILERS IN THIS THREAD! The UK has only just finished Season 2 and we're going to have to wait until around March probably to get 3.

I won't give any spoilers for season 3. Mostly because I couldn't understand what was going on. So as I'm not sure what happened at any point really, not much I can add.
Wait I suppose that was a spoiler. Lost season 3 remains just as confusing as it predeccesors.
On a completely unrelated note. Survivor something something or other was a big let down. Why the heck did the merge the tribes before allowing the social experiment of pitting race against race really get underway. Totally lost my short attention span after that.
