Good news everyone! It seems that FOX is on the horn with series creator Matt Groening discussing a Family Guy-esque resurrection of the classic Futurama due to the overwhelming demand, its popularity on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, and its DVD sales. Glory be for we may once again be able to bite Bender's shiny metal ass!

Note the article says "may". Don't raise your hopes too high just yet.

I said "discussing." Anyway, I figured it should be shared.

Again? The whole cast should be zombies considering the number of times that show has come back from the dead.

Eeeexcellent...oh wait...

Some of the stories were a little meh at times, but not so much as the Simpsons has become recently, of course that could be because of the hyooge number of repeats, and when shows like American Dad (bad isn't the word) are still being made, it makes sense.

Next stop Firefly! tongue.gif

This makes me happy in my pants. Yes, I am quite pleased.

Of course if they tease us like this and then don't follow through I'm going to have to stab them in the neck with shovels while dipping their genitals in acid. I'll do it, I'm friggen crazy.
Daria
Hooray! Just as long as they don't make crappy new episodes like The Simpsons (with stupidly small plots), all should be good biggrin.gif

I have been rubbing my various lucky bits of rock and jewelry hoping for that to happen ever since the day they cancelled it. If they resurrect Firefly, I believe I'll be happy for years after all the waiting.
I don't really have time to watch all the funny animated stuff mentioned, but the few epidsodes of Futurama that I've seen have been pretty good. It's nice and quirky. smile.gif

just borrowed firefly from a friend and am thoroughly entranced. I am gutted that once i get to the end of the series that will be it. Bring back firefly too.!
Novander
My understanding is that theres not going to be anymore firefly (sad.gif), but if we all click our heels and say "there's no film like serenity" over and over, there might be a sequel.
PsychWardMike
I read a statement from the firefly guy that said he was done with the whole series and wasn't intending to do anymore... putting it all behind him and stuff. So that means no more show and the two sequels to Serenity are kaputt.

Sorry.

Not true. At all.

Joss Whedon would love to resurrect Serenity/Firefly. The chances of another feature film depends on the DVD sales (in the States, thus far, going fabulously, and hopefully the same in the Uk as the BBC viewers voted it Film of the Year, which should certainly give it the well deserved boost when it's released on DVD in February).

Whedon has a lot of story left to tell. He'd like Firefly to come back in some shape or form (Christ, he's even making noises about bring Buffy back in comic-book version), but now a film has been done I don't think it'd work in series form. If nothing else, it'll come as a straight-to-DVD movie, but Joss has been saying for the past few months that he'd absolutely love another cinematic release. I believe that he's already planned the general plot-line for a next film, as with Buffy and Angel (and, no doubt, Firefly), he wrote his series two or three years in advance.

So, in actual fact, he's got every intention of bringing this back - he's made very obvious noises about bringing back Book and Jubal Early in a film, series or comic release - it just depends what the men in the suits say.

So, yeah. Give me a link that says Joss Whedon doesn't want to continue with Firefly/Serenity, and I'll give you four that say otherwise.

I'll cling to hope, then. The movie and the series were both brilliant, and it sucks that trashy reality TV shows are allowed multiple seasons when Firefly only got half of one. Three cheers for Joss Whedon!

Sorry, LB. I didn't mean anything by it.

"Isn't it time for your nap, Professor?"
"Yes, damnit!"
