It hasn't happened since, but at about 3:00, I refreshed the screen and received this error:

They regularly back-up the databases, in case the server is hacked. It does mean that there is occasionally a little down-time when this happens, but the overall peace of mind is worth it.
Even the best servers in the world only really give 99.9% uptime, and any hosting that promises 100% is lying! This said, if you have the problem regularly please make a note of the exact time, your timezone, and the message that is displayed. I can use this info to get my hosts to investigate the issue.
