So now that it's December people have started asking me what I want for Christmas. My list always ends up being comprised mostly of Books, CDs and DVDs and I need some inspiration.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest
Books
Flowers for Algernon - Daniel Keyes
The Virgin Suicides - Jeffrey Eugenides

Christmas, yeah!
Ok:
PS3 (which is most unlikely. I've never been allowed any sort of games console.)
Little speakers which work, for our computer
HMV vouchers. (I swear, these are the best things invented, EVAR)
Ooh, I thought I would want more and I was excited about all the things I would want, but it seems that I don't really want much, but everything I do want is expensive, so I probably won't get it for Christmas.

A speaker system of sorts to hook up to my iPod. There's the really cute iFish that dances to the music - which would be pretty awesome.
A giftcard or something to a book store. There are so many books that I want that I'll be a poor woman before I could ever afford them.
To Kill a Mockingbird
Speak
Lucky
Messenger
Series of Unfortunate Events -The End
Memoirs of a Geisha
A book that I can not remember the name of (Something like ameobia strain or something - Anthony Burgess, I think.)
Requim for a Dream
(I'm forgetting a few. The list goes on, I promise.)
I would die from exictment if I were to get a portable movie player, but I'll live without it.
New shoes! (Personally designed Converse, anyone?)
I bet my parents miss when they could just walk down the Barbie aisle and grab random things.

I have asked for (so far)
- A large coat (although I was given one a couple of days ago, so that can be removed from the list)
- The Magic Christian film
- A hat stand
I find it very difficult to ask for things as I can't remember what I need/ want at the time of writing/ asking. Also, I have an overwhelming guilt asking for anything at all. I'm most happy to receive though. Ironic, isn't it just?

Hmm I want so far:
One of:
- New Mp3 player (current one is old and knackered)
- New phone (not that bothered 'cos it still works)
- Combine the above to form... Walkman Phone. But it's rather expensive and only 4gb, so probably not ask for this.
Some of:
- Nice shirts
- A nice jacket
- Some cuff links
- Various CDs, Flogging Molly, Jimi Hendrix, Bad Religion... some others
- Books: I can't think of any specific ones, but they are always welcome
- DVDs: ditto
- Stuff from my ThinkGeek wishlist

I have remembered something I want and am most likely to get. I think I will be allowed to have a table cupboard to go next to bed where I can put my clothes in.

65 Days of Static – The Fall of Math
There is no way on earth you can't own this album. It's the best album in the world ever. It makes me happy to see someone even mention them on here.
65days = love.
Fo' realz. Don't wait until Christmas. Get it now. And get 'One Time for All Time' while you're at it.
*edit* I didn't notice Explosions stuff! Yes yes and yes. Good Novander.
Back to lurking, then!

I think Sainburys' do...
I asked for a stereo, just a little microsystem, I gave my other one to my sister when I came back from university, and now I sorta miss it. I was gonna ask for in skin vouchers (tattoo place in town) but I didn't honestly expect my mum to actually agree... I think my sister is gonna though.
What with this being my first christmas post University, I thought I'd make an effort with presents...which is really hard. My mum's always complaining about the radio in the kitchen...so I thought I might get her a DAB digital jobbie to match her new kitchen (yeah, it's sorta sucky, but she likes practical presents she can use), and I know my sister's getting a laptop, so I figured I'd get her something related to that...maybe a webcam so she can have conversations with our Dad in France (who recently got one to talk to one of his brothers).
As for anything else...well I like surprises.

Meh. It's cheaper just to buy them in a six pack at Walmart.
As for stuff I need?
Cash. First and foremost, I'm a poor college kid and the money I've saved up since the summer is nigh depleted. If I got nothing but cash (and possibly my books...) this Crhistmas, I'd be fine. However, since my family doesn't like to give cash I also asked for this: (note, I'd never expect all, or even half, of this since most of it is fairly expensive, but my family likes a big list to cut down on presents that are the same and the easiness of shopping)
DVD:
Batman the Animated Series Seasons 1, 2, and 3
Scrubs Seasons 2, 3, and 4 (I lent them out and they were returned to me in nonworking conditions. Grr.)
The Muppet Show Seasons 1 and 2
South Park Season 3, 5, 6, and 8
American Beauty
Clerks X
Clerks 2
Thank You For Smoking
CD:
Barenaked Ladies "Are Me"
Barenaked Ladies "Born on a Pirate Ship"
Barenaked Ladies "Maybe You Should Drive"
Barenaked Ladies "Maroon"
Video Games:
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (PS2)
Okami (PS2)
Resident Evil 4 (PS2)
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (PS2)
Disgaea 2 (PS2)
Final Fantasy XII (PS2)
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology (PS2)
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
Legend of Zleda: The Twilight Princess (GC)
Viewtiful Joe Red Hot Rumble (GC)
Misc.
A new black beret
New jeans
An mp3 player
See? It's a lot. Probably would total close to $1000. But it's nice to have a wide list to choose from.

My brothers both have mile-long lists, and I got embarrassed, so mine is quite short. I want some piece of grunky looking silver jewelry, a pair of boots with big buckles on the legs, and a quart of pumpkin-colored paint so I can do the trim in my room. I told my dumb brothers to get me mohawk supplies, so they will not buy me (or worse, burn me!) CDs that I do not want.
This is probably the first Christmas I've had where I am more excited about the things that I am giving than getting. Which is nice.

I used to have short lists, but my family would always complain that I'm hard to shop for. Eventually, I got over being embarassed and just started listing things. Wee!
