Hi all,
was just wondering if anyone knew much about insuring laptops in the UK? I'm not sure about getting it done under home insurance, because if I leave home with it, and then it gets stolen, is it still covered? What if I'm mugged? Anyone here insured their laptop? Who did you do it with? Anyone got any advice/ reccomendations?

It can be done on home insurance, but it depends what type of policy you have I think when I dropped my ipod and shattered the screen whilst running for the train* my mum managed to claim of the home insurance for that, so it can be done, but you'd have to check with the insurance people.

When you find something let me know. I'm buying a new laptop and will need to get it insured for outside the house use (otherwise what's the point of the darn thing!). If I find out anything I'll let you know
