You ever hear something you've listened to a bunch with headphones and then hear totally new things in the music? Just happened to me with a Pharoah Sanders album. I just got a new pair of headphones (sweet: OTTO) and they have the best sound quality I've ever heard. Yay. I like the company a lot, they also sent me a discount code (FREESHIP) for 10% off on their bluetooth car kit or their integrated headset and mp3 player if anyone wants to use that. So what music has this happened to you with? I wish I could put into words exactly what it was I heard, but since it was acoustic and I have no idea what those instruments are I don't know how to describe the sound.

Nothing beats a good pair of headphones when you want to lose yourself in music. I love walking around in the rain with my headphones in, just happy at my own pace completely lost in the music while everyone else hurrys to get out of the wet.
One of the most profound differences I've found was when listening to Circle Takes The Square, their music is so intricate and just generally amazing that I seem to hear something new everytime I listen.

I heard a bassline at the start of Accidents Waiting To Happen by 12 Rods, that I had never heard before.

I find that Thom Yorke's album The Eraser is one of the best to listen through via headphones. The sound just engulfs you and you get emmersed that you do things like miss your train stop. (Yes, it happened..)

Oooh, you've inspired me. I think my roommate has that. Gonna give it a whirl. Yeah, I also noticed that every time I get a new pair of headphones I hear new things. Though the last two I got were both the same brand (OTTO) so not quite as much. I think that the speakers in headphones actually wear out pretty quickly, but that people get attached to their set and use them long after the sound quality has degraded.

I first heard the "angel's chorus", for lack of a better description, in the background of the Cruel Angel's Thesis (Opening to Neon Genesis:Evangelion) while listening to it with headphones. </geek> I also heard the drumline of Bat Country a few months ago on headphones, I think, it might've just been on speakers. It's nothing fancy but I liked it a lot anyways.

Heh, speaking of Otto: http://www.wehatetrendystuff.com/ seeing them everywhere now. Laughed at that one though.
