Is it just me or do you get serious spam emails from weirdos on myspace? I had some weird emails asking to be my friend and most of the time they read like those Nigerian scam emails. Odd!

My tip would be to not add people you don't know, cuts down on the unwanted messages and bulletins. You can set it to private and make it so people have to know your last name to add you as a friend if it gets too out of hand. Since a lot of the people I know online are on my myspace I don't have the last name thing, because I don't share my last name all that often with people, but it has worked well for some of my other friends.

I don't get a lot of spam on there, but it does trickle through. Then again, I get about two hundred+ spam emails per day, so I might not be the best judge of what counts as 'a lot'. It's usually fairly easy to judge the real people from the fakes, I think.

They don't get a response, the closest to that is the person you've requested friendship from disappears out of your pending friends request folder.

[Don't forget that this forum is constantly being searched by 'spiders', bots that look for email addresses and harvest them for spam lists. Always take at least the minimum of security measures if you choose to post your email address. I've changed the address above to be less easily readable by spambots, but it's not foolproof: they are designed to be clever at picking past simple measures even like writing [at] instead of the @ symbol... Well, I assume they are. I know I'd program that in if I were making one, so I assume people making money from doing this have thought of it too - Mata]
