I found out about the plague on world of warcraft on this weeks click on bbc world. But all the information I can find on the interweb is all from 2005:

Is this plague still going on?

This was from the launch of the ZG instance and the "plague" only lasted about 2 days, but some people did have it abit longer but yes it was way back in 2005.

As for that report i read it in The Times personally the only part of it that might of made sense was ground zero, where people had left the instance then went to the various home points. then the spread of conntact from there as for the rest of it i found it unrealistic.
