Hello, all. Thank SPS for prodding me on MSN and pointing me here. Lots of memories reading through this. Still in occasional contact with syuu and Jaq, but I've drifted away from most everyone else. It's especially pleasant to read your posts, InKy - you'd been gone for ages even before I left here, and that was years ago. My musical tastes have diversified a bit

I'm nearly at the end of my undergraduate degree, struggling through some mental health problems to get the grades I need to go on to postgraduate studies (with a year out in between to get my head on straight). Aside from that, I'm... older, is about all I can really say. Life goes on.

Apologies for my sudden and prolonged disappearance a few years back. It was mostly down to my laptop developing a terminal case of the fux0r'ds, thus leaving me sans internet for a good long while. Now I have an office-based job with associated abuse of company systems. Hoorah!

How diverse have you gone, then, dear boy? I've expanded my musical horizons too - I was already of moderately broad taste, but there's nothing like a few years on the other side of the music shop counter to really give you a perspective on the pantheon of the recorded arts. I heard a lot of shite too, but that tends to get forgotten. I've mellowed and become more extreme at the same time, which is fun when people ask what kind of music I like (a question they always regret asking after about the fifth minute of explaining), but rather debilitating for my bank account.

So yeah, must be what, 4 years since I last was here? In that time I've got divorced, moved house, got remarried, changed jobs three times, fought a long and protracted battle with my endowment company (and won!!), adopted my orphaned niece, did a college course and paid off nearly all my debts. Phew! Actually, when you condense it down like that it sounds like I've been really busy and strung out. Lordy, how did I survive all that? Now all I've got to do is find a new house and batter the tax office into submission and then I can take the family on a nice holiday somewhere...

Yeah, I passed that as well. I kind of made life a bit harder by making a life-changing decision just before I went on the boot camp part but perhaps it made things lighter for me... anyway I got the second highest score out of the 16 attendees (12 of whom failed) of 92.4%. Not bad considering I knew next to nothing of it when I started!
