Mata
I wouldn't usually do this, but my hosting for this site is due in a few weeks. It's not a huge amount of money because bandwidth is a lot cheaper than it used to be, but it still represents around 80% of my money in the bank.

About five years ago it cost £1.5k (around $3k) per year to keep this site online. Fortunately that's dropped a huge amount to the far more reasonable $160, but I don't have the money at the moment. I've started temping recently while I'm looking for work, so the timing of the bill is pretty unfortunate.

On the plus side, I can pay the bill by PayPal. I do have around half the money in there, but I need another £40. If you've got a spare £5/$10 in your account it would be much appreciated if you could push it over to me to help with the hosting.

You can PayPal money to:

shop [at} matazone [dot) co [doot] uk

Anything is appreciated, but much less than $3 means that the majority of the money goes to Mr. PayPal and not to me.

I'll completely understand if no-one can afford to help. I've been skint many times in the past too, and I know no-one on here is exactly what you'd call rich, but I figured there was no harm in asking smile.gif

I'll send you monies on condition that you fix the horrible horrible typo in this sentence. Pet peeve of mine.
Mata
You mean 'then' rather than 'than'? I've never done that one before and I would never consider that correct. That'll teach me to type while a bit drunk. I can't say I've noticed that anywhere else, so I guess that peeve doesn't get you very often. (I considered typing 'offten' just for fun.)

'Your' and 'you're' being mixed up annoys me, as does 'there' and 'their'. I can understand incorrect punctuation in 'its' and 'it's'; I even do it myself occasionally by accident when I'm in a hurry, but it annoys me a little bit nonetheless.

I have money in my left or right hand, guess which one correctly and I'll shop on amazon through the search things below.
Mata
I guess it's in the right hand (because even if I'm wrong, I'm still right).

No problem Cath, I totally understand. Thanks anyway smile.gif
Izzy
And I'll guess left hand, because you didn't specify who had to guess, making either Mata or myself right, thus making you have to use the search things. Enjoy your shopping.

I'd love to help Mata, but I don't have a PayPal account or anything, so sorry. sad.gif

It was actually a trick question. I had the money sewn to the soles of my feet. But I'll search anyway.
Mata
I have had one donation from a forumite. *hugs that person* I'll let them say who they are if they want it known.

I'm not sure money is still going to be in a particularly useful form after it has been surgically implanted into the soles of your feet. If it was in your shoes or socks then it would have been more handy... Footy... Thing.

If people can afford things, there's always my shop http://www.matazone.co.uk/shop . That not only helps me pay the hosting, but it also gets stuff out of my very-full cupboard!

EDIT: Make that three donations. Thank you!
Mata
Thanks to the power of loveliness, I now have four and a half donations, and that's made up enough with my 50% to pay the hosting bill! Hurrah!

You lot, you're lovely. You know that?
michael1384
We know.
Izzy
Half a donation?
funked)out_frog
Is it alright if I give it* you in cash at the meet. Then the Paypals cannae take none of it wink.gif

* 'it' being dosh, not my eye. I plan to keep my eye for a while yet.
Mata
As I said in the previous post, the bill is paid, but you're welcome to donate further money if you want smile.gif Although, if you do it at a meet then it's likely to turn into alcohol...
funked)out_frog
Ohoh! I mis-read *tireds*. Sure, monihol it is wink.gif
Kitty
I was going to make a donation last month, but the exchange rates are so terrible it didn't seem like it would end up being much of a donation at all =(
Mata
Cheers for the thought Kitty *hugs* The exchange rate has at least stabilised for the moment, and even slightly improved: a few months ago it was $2.05 to the pound, now it's more like $1.97. It's not a huge improvement on our scale of things, but in terms of percentage swing it's actually quite a big step.
