Why thank you, kind sir!
A far less toothy selection this afternoon.
Jesus Came From Outta Space by Supergrass
I Feel It All by Feist
Onsay by Fennesz
Mishto by Gogol Bordello
Banana Co by Radiohead
One of my favourite Radiohead bees there. Don't listen to that nearly often enough.

The 'head have got some great B-sides. I rather fell for the 'Paranoid Android' single, with 'Polyethylene Part 1 & 2' and 'Pearly*' - great tunes both. Also, props to the Supergrass - one of the most exciting live bands I've seen. Last time was in Leeds, where they were supported by the then-almost-unknown Libertines. Who were crap, incidentally.
5 for the hell of it:
After The Laughter - ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
Colonise The moon - Super Furry Animals (a B-side, as it happens, from my mighty SFA collection)
Chinaberry Tree (Red Version) - Mew (another B-side - I see a theme developing...)
Atomic - Blondie (...or perhaps not)
Flawed Is Beautiful - These Animal Men
The last one is from my wife's collection, but I still quite like them. They once wrote a song about my wife, as it happens - many moons ago, when she was a teenage tearaway in feather boa and glitter. She was quite the glam-punk, it has to be noted.

It would appear that Izzy likes to rock. And by rock, I mean rawk. No doubt AC/DC would salute you.
Well, it's half eight again, and I'm in work for another hour, already bored out of my mind (even bored enough to create my own MySpace - just look for Crawton Leek, where you will find... nothing, as yet). Time for a funky, fresh and firm five:
Judy Is A Punk - The Ramones (less bored already - result!)
Breaking The Girl - Red Hot Chili Peppers (a band that seem to be appearing on most people's random selections - perhaps we have found the secret bond that ties Matazonians together...)
I Want To Hold Your Hand - The Beatles (oh, those Beatles...)
Plastic Creatures - EC8OR (ahh, bask in the joys of lo-fi digital hardcore)
The Everthere - Elbow (yes, syuu, you read that right - turns out they're not that dull after all)

Okay, here's my morning selection:
Madhouse - Like A Prayer

Oh lord, how the hell did this horrid dance version of the Madge classic end up on the server?? Quick, pass the remote!
David Essex - If I Could. This is on his greatest hits album, but I don't remember it at all...
Gwen Stefani - Breaking Up. Random tail end album track.
NIN - Eraser. Sounds cooler on paper than it does as soundwaves, another album tail-ender.
The Offspring - Hit That
I wonder if going backwards plays the same tracks? Ooooh, no it doesn't, so here's the backwards playlist.
Coldplay - A Message
Oasis - A Quick Peep
Ministry - Never Believe. At last, one from the front end of an album, and I really like this one!
The Jam - David Watts. Ahhhh, an absolute classic! I wish I could be like him...
M People - Open Your Heart
You see, people, if you want random you need a collection which encompasses the tastes of a varying range of ages and spanning at least four decades. But make sure you have the whole NIN back catalogue to ensure you get at least one you want to listen to

Izzy- kudos on the Polysics
My five for this morning are:
Idioteque- Radiohead (I love this song- it's like the track should have been on Thom Yorke's Eraser)
Knock On Wood- Amii Stewart (I love a bit of disco)
Clair De Lune- Debussy (I hate Classical music. It infuriates me and actually makes me feel quite angry sometimes. I can understand its brilliance and appreciate it for its artistic value but... it just pisses me off. Debussy is an exception)
Glory Box- Portishead
Introduction- Voxtrot (I'm surprised Voxtrot haven't come up in any other Matazonian's list as of yet- I would have thought so many of you would like them!)
Once again, the above is from my MP3 player that is old, knackered and only holds 128MB of music. Yeahhh. I shun your iPod technology.

May 15 2008, 11:09 AM
I also love 'Idioteque', Daria. But not as much as I love 'The National Anthem' - my fave 'Kid A' track, and one of my all-time 'head faves.
Five before I start work (later, inevitably, to be followed by five at lunch and five on the late shift - I'm becoming predictable...)
Painted Soldiers - Pavement
Dog Roses - Duke Spirit
Your Southern Can Is Mine - White Stripes
Judy Is A Dick Slap - Belle & Sebastian (best title ever...)
Today Tomorrow Sometime Never - Echobelly
It's almost like the last decade never happened...

This is honestly the funnest thing in a while. Let's go!
Etude in C sharp Minor - Chopin (played by Dejan Sinaninovic, not my favourite performer of Chopin's etudes really...)
Chic 'n' Stu - SOAD
You Can't Always Get What You Want - The Rolling Stones (Is that a flugel horn?!)
Reflets dans l'Eau - Debussy (played by Francois-Joel Thiollier)
La plus que lente - Debussy (again Thiollier)
Well that was fun.

Lunchy five:
Green Room Sex Kitten - Scheer (original version, rare as hen's teeth, and brilliant)
This Is The Sound Of Youth - These Animal Men (
those guys again?)
In The Woods - Howling Bells
Mutherfuker - Beck (couldn't decide if that needed censoring - I'll leave that up to the mods...

)
On Repeat - LCD Soundsystem
Nifty.

My "finished work" five for today:
Radiohead - My Iron Lung
The Shirelles - Baby It's You
The Wonder Stuff - Poison

Green Day - Basket Case (the live version off Bullet In A Bible)
The last one should be credited to the audience though, they sing most of it.

The Dresden Dolls - Girl Anachronism (huge thing for these guys a couple years ago, bit lukewarm on them now)

Time, then, for my last five for a few days - make it count, Zen...
Akuma No Kuma - Sunn O))) & Boris (F@CK YEAH!!! Nice start - sprrrooooooooonnnnggg....)
Mr. Tough - Yo La Tengo (Ooh, sweet! 'I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Kick Your Ass' is a great album - at least as great as the title)
I Collect Coins - Mercury Rev (I don't listen to 'Deserter's Songs' enough, so yay)
Here (Alternate Mix) - Pavement (From the Luxe & Reduxe ish of 'Slanted & Enchanted' - I'm getting impatient for 2CD reissues of the other two albums...)
'Cause I Rock - Hopper (This track was on a few randoms ago! Feh. Good job it's flippin' lovely)

It's always good to be present at a recorded performance, it enables you to live it again and again. Unless it was the Oasis gig they did in CoMS a couple of years ago, I was just glad I didn't have to pay for the tickets I had because they didn't really get going until they did a frankly belting version of Rock & Roll Star, after which they left the stage. Rubbish.
Anyway, very quickly my morning five randoms, because I've got a lot of work on today...
Gorillaz - Last Living Sould
Pharrell feat. Gwen Stefani - Can I Have It Like That?
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry - Jipp
Jimi Hendrix - Gypsy Eyes
Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar
Blimey, a bit of RLYL slipped into the randomiser, and one I've not heard for a while too. I like it when that happens, especially when it takes away the taste of the previous track.

Here it is, Leo's five for Friday lunchtime (albeit a bit late) from his extensive collection:
Rolling Stones - Beast of Burden. Not one of my faves, to be honest.
Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl. This sh*t is bananas

Prince - Adore
Two Witches - Irresistible. Golly, the darkwave stuff just keeps popping up...
The Fratellis - Doginabag
And going backwards again, just for the sheer pesky heck of it:
Beastie Boys - Fight For Your Right. Hellfire, a complete classic, straight off the bat! Can this continue?
Alanis Morissette - Baba. Seemingly not. Oh well, moving on.
Donny Osmond - I Can't Go For That (No Can Do). Yes, the Hall & Oates classic being covered by that perennial Peter Pan-esque favourite with the inexplicably good teeth. If I look half as good as he does when I hit fifty I'd be a happy guy. Hell, I'd settle for that now, and I'm 13 years shy of that target... Anyway, good tune badly covered. Moving on.
The Mission - Grapes of Wrath. I like this song, for some reason. Dunno why, because the lyrics are utter garbage.
Stevie Wonder - Fingertips, parts 1 & 2. Eleven year old Stevie Wonder in action!

Bauhaus - Silent Hedges (bit more like it. A must-play at every goth's funeral)
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (I keep pretending not to like this song, you know, to stay cool)
The Long Blondes - Big Infatuation (love these guys)
Christian Death - The Drowning (omg goth)
