Lazy man votes Newcastle-under-Lyme. Shout me down if you will, but I tells ya, I know some very good pubs round here...
I'd love to attend another meet, but my shift patterns are prohibitive and holiday allocation meagre.

General experience suggests that meets located much past Leicester/Birmingham are hard to get a good number of people to attend and London ones generally get the best numbers.
You're welcome to come to Oxford, but I don't really have floor space in my new house and there's not enough room for camping. On the plus side, there is a 24 bus service to London Victoria which I've used several times and highly recommend.
More realistically, unless people jump at the idea of Oxford, how about one in London in September? How does Saturday 20th September sound? It's been ages since I've had a wander around Camden, and it's always nice to look at pretty stuff I'm never going to buy.

London is wicked by me

I would prefer the weekend after (27th?) I say that as I
might be busy the weekend of 20th in Manchester for a friend's birthday

27th would be better than the 20th for me but I'm not sure how finances will be then because of moving to Kidderminster but I'd definitely be up for it!

I think we could make a nice afternoon of it in Chester sometime. I used to live and breathe that city, so unless it's changed massively I could still probably find my way around it blindfolded.
We'll keep this one open, then, unless someone wants to pitch in with a date idea.

Chester works for me, its far enough north that I dont spend most of the meet on a bus

.
I also have a holiday from work planned at the start of september, for about two-three weeks, so that'd prob be a good time for me. I'll be planning to stay overnight tho, due to the distances involved in getting home and all that jazz, so could we make it a weekend meet (over two days)?
Industrial Kybosh
Aug 4 2008, 06:24 PM
Throw some dates around, Tara. So long as it's not before the 7th of September - I'm in Newquay then - I may well be able to join you for a few bevvies.

Aug 4 2008, 09:10 PM
moop and I probably can't do many weekends in August. So, maybe sometime after the 7th of September?
We'd only be able to do the one day in Chester, really. Home is so close that it'd be kind of impractical for us to stay at a hotel, but not close enough that we could easily go back to Chester the next morning. On a Sunday we'd have to change in Birmingham to get there (and it'd take 4 hours each way) if my memory serves me correctly from planning the Spoon minimeet last month. Lame.
I spoke with snoo on the phone a little while ago, and I think that she might be coming to the Chester meet as well. Yay!

I'll most likely attend any meet in London, but it bore me coz I lives here, so Chester is fine and I ain't been there before so would vote it over London finaces allowing. And if there is one in Birmingham, or there abouts I could offer a few floor spaces at my aunt's place. Can also offer some floor spaces in London, and tenting, in the sense that I can provide tents and few sleep bags/ roll mats if ya wants so no carrying.

Aug 5 2008, 07:50 AM
Frog, you can have some sleeping space at our house for the Chester meet, if you want (as can other people thinking of coming from far away). Coach tickets from London Victoria to us are usually about £2 return if booked a little bit in advance. It costs £14 (without a railcard) for a return ticket from Derby to Chester.

Man September is becoming almost as busy as August is for me... I can't do the weekend before or after but I could do the 13th!
I've no idea how long it'll take to get from Kidderminster to Chester but I can't see it being that long (especially if I go from Wolverhampton instead) but I'd have to second the not being worth while for me to stay over night...

13th is good for me, or any date really. I'll book ma tickets via teh coaching once a date is set. Cand, that's be great- for sleeping space, thankies

4th September 2004, if I remeber correctly is the first meet I went, and met Cath, Inky, Snuggles, Forever Unknown, hrm... Queenie, Fuzzy, Suz (or is it Sus), hmm. Others too. Pat, was you there? *memory fades*

13th of September works for us, as far as I know!
Frog: it'd probably be easiest to come out here on Friday evening and leave Sunday morning. Spoon did that for the previous Chester minimeet, and it seemed to work quite well.
If anyone else is thinking of coming from further away and wants a place to sleep, just speak up.

Pat was not present, but the notorious kitten-eater Spacehappy was, as well as a barman that certain members of our entourage lured back to the hotel. Oh the carnage...
I'd be making a flying daytime visit for a proposed Chester do, as it's not far from where I live, but rest assured that I'd be making the best of my time there. Boy howdy!

Aug 5 2008, 02:55 PM
Right, a train from Wolves would take less than 2 hours and involves only one change. This is preferable to between 3 and 4 hours with 4 changes to go from Kidderminster but I can stay in Wolves on the Friday night so it's no more hassle to go from there anyway!
What I'm saying is count me in!

I'm up for a London one. I'd have to see closer to the time about a Chester one. Disappearing around the country for two weekends in one month wouldn't impress the lady at home I suspect!
