Ok so, the story begins with Dave's idea for a haloween costume, which in turn came from Dave reading too many Hellblazer comics (Dave is me, typing in the third person because its a narrative and because he's sleepy).
Anyway, our industrious hero (ahem) settled on being nothing less than the coolest bastard of them all, John bloody Constantine. Easy enough to pull off; dye hair blonde and style similar to Sting in his Police days (the band, of course, I don't think he's ever worked for the Met). Get trousers, shirt, tie, shoes. All fairly standard attire. Get trenchcoat. Uhm...

So, searching his local clothes emporiums, Dave hits upon dead end after dead end, and starts viewing online stores, where sadly the only suitable garment found was priced at a rather unattainable £400. Que Ebay searching for "mens trench coat". Again, disappointment. At his wits end, Dave decides that he's probably not going to manage to find one cheaply before all hallows' eve, and decides to dig out his old pirate outfit and just make do. In one last act of desperation, a week before the biggest party day of the calendar, Dave checks Ebay one final time only to find... Gasp! A trench coat! In his size! for £10!

Needless to say, Dave immediately puts down a reasonable bid on the item, and roughly ten hours later, is informed of his victory, with no other contenders to the item, a surprising turn of events to say the least. The only proviso in the fantastic deal hits Dave a little too late; the item is listed as Collection Only. From London.

Not to be undone, Dave checks bus timetables and begins to form a plan; overnight coaches are available coming and going, so travel isn't a problem; the seller lives near to a Tube station, so meeting should be a doddle (its due to the Matazonians that Dave has little fear of the Tube lines' labyrinthian maps); all this leaves is an entire days worth of needing-something-to-do in London. Solution: Meet some Matazonians!

So, the moral of our tale, if it can be called such (it can't, I'm embellishing my language somewhat...) is that Dave/Tara will be in London, this Monday (27th October) for the daytime, leaving from Victoria coach station at 23:45 that night. He understands that people don't necessarily live centrally, nor do they necessarily have free time on their hands at 24 hours notice, but would like to invite any and all Matazonians to meet, somewhere central, for some (albeit brief) socialising.

He suggests the Worlds End, in Camden, but is open to superior options from those natives who know the terrain much better than he does.

Well my plans leave me at Brent Cross Tube (Northern line) just after 10am, and I need to be back at Victoria coach station by 11:30 pm, so I have plenty of time (and a zone 3 tube ticket, if my guestimates are correct) to get around. By the look of it, Camden Town tube is on the way back from where I'm headed anyway, so that's one possible place to meet (since I've been there before and know the place a little).

Of course, if I remember correctly, that's a little out of the way for yourself, froggie, so might it be easier to meet at Tower Hill (assuming you're still in Lewisham?) as its on the circle line (where I can get back to Victoria easily)?

I dunno, anywhere really should be fine by me, as long as its not too far out.
