ZOMG!

It has just been brought to my attention that the last minute of this year will be a whole second longer!!!

Apologies to those of you who knew, but this is a major revelation for me. 2009 is a second further away, damnit!

I feel that we now need to think long and hard about how to spend this extra second. It's time enough for an extra sip of your drinky, a peck on someone's cheek, a full runthrough of all of Robbie Williams' decent songs - the possibilities are brief but endless!

So, how will you spend yours? I'll be holding my note on SingStar just a little longer in celebration.

Well, now you've decided for me! By pointing it out, I'll now be spending the extra second thinking of you.

I believe that an extra long kiss consumed the extra second, although possibly it was used sipping sparkling wine. Either way, it could be a lot worse

Aww! I'm deeply touched. But not in the dirty way that requires restraining orders. Maybe next year...

Sadly the SingStarring didn't happen, as we got engrossed in watching all the films we always choose to watch when munted. So my extra second was spent enjoying an extra spurt of arterial blood in 'Ichi The Killer'. Begin your year as you mean to go on, I say.

I'm pretty sure I spent it watching the Big Lebowski with my friends, drunk.

I think I spent it being confused by Jools Holland trying to say 'and the extra second'. It wasn't the extra second that confused me as I did actually know about it, it was him adding to the count down.

I was moshing during the extra second, which was awesome until someone got launched through the air and landed on me...

Reading my post back, I'm very glad someone got the reference, otherwise it could have been misconstrued as a little threatening... <__<

I haven't used the extra second yet. I'm saving it, just in case I need it at some point in the near future. In the meantime, everyone'll just have to put up with me being that teensy bit ahead of them. Oh, hang on, that's the phone. Won't be a sec...



... Ah. It appears the extra second offer expired at midnight on December 31, 2008. Bugger

I used it to adjust my timepiece for the 1 second difference. >_>

I hated it It just made me feel depressed for everything I'd lost this year. My friend pointed out that it was the END of that year and START of a new one. I felt a bit better but the fireworks just reminded me of my brother as we set some off at his wake

Ah well, I don't think that 2009 can be worse than 2008 but I'll just have to see

My new years mottos are "carpe diem" and "que sera, sera"!
