HOW DO YOU KILL THEM?????

Usually I don't like killing animals, but these MUST DIE. ARGH.

Apparently they can live a whole year without eating food, and females can live for 8 years! So being super tidy isn't an option. Besides, they eat books and walls and hair, and other things I'm not especially keen on getting rid of.

Have you had silverfish problems - did any pesticides work?

Tips on KILLING THEM ALL?

Uuuurrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh

I think I know the things you're talking about. I kept on seeing them in a place I lived a few years ago. They're weird little things. I've got no idea how to get rid of them - my solution was to squish them whenever I saw them then move out a year later!

This Web Site seemed to have some good tips for getting rid of them. A big thing seems to be getting rid of extra moisture in your home, so a dehumidifyer might be something to look into. It looks like they're hard to get rid of though, so you may have to call an exterminator.

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing!

thanks for the help! I've looked at most websites, but they all seem to be scaremongering/trying to sell some product or other. Still, I've tried to avoid putting wet shoes on the floor (I also find that in the morning there tend to be a couple hiding under them when I turn the lights on!). Bleach down the drains too. Well, I'll be moving out a few months anyway... smile.gif

Exterminators did the trick for my apartment last summer. I haven't seen any for months and before the spraying I saw the creepy crawlies nearly every day.

Oddly enough, I appear to have these in my new house. Fortunately, I'm currently ripping up the floor that they live under, I just hope that they aren't settled anywhere else in the property. They'll be a bugger to get rid of once I've moved in.
