Probably not. Before this Bachelor course I did 5 years of "vocational education". Over here in the NL if you're over 18 and you study, you get financial support. If you finish whatever course you're doing in 10 years or less, the support is considered a gift. If you don't, it's converted to a loan (which is pretty reasonable, the rent is 10x as low as any of the banks) which you have to pay off in 20 or so years.
So in July last year I graduated with about 19k in student loans (this is the money they gave me as a gift, and some more as a loan) and I was a bit scared that it wouldn't be deducted due to an administrative error. So seeing that removed from the balance was pretty nice.
