I agree though completey with your comment about not being sure you'd get the right type of fae. The books recommend that you test the water, so to speak, dip your toe in, and you should be able to tell if the energy there is helpful or malicious.

Personally I think they work a lot like I would. If someone approached me respectfully and asked me nicely to help them I would if I could If they just stormed into my house (realm) and demanded help I might be inclined to be a bit mischevious just to get my own back

Like Santa Clause and religion, the mind and society make it real , I personally don't. Sometimes I wish I could beleive in something.

Do you mean like fairies, Santa, Easter bunny? Personally I don't believe the latter two exist as things in their own right. IMHO the idea of Santa exists and the original Pagan deity the Christians based it on did (if you believe in deities, etc.). The Easter bunny is to do with the goddess appearing as a hare around Easter hence chocolate bunnies so I guess you could say the symbol exists.

I've seen what I considered to be a fairy and therefore to me they exist
